5 /5 Kenneth Liu: The service was fantastic, amazing and friendly waitresses and the owner came out for a chat too. We used a Groupon voucher and unlike other places where you get treated like second class citizens we were treated like royalty - kudos to the staff. Again even with a Groupon deal the food was really high quality and delicious. The hot fish platter and scallops are must orders!

5 /5 Robert Marriott: Me and my wife were given vouchers for Charlie’s back in 2017, we were looking forward to the food as it sounded so good on their website, and they did not fail to please. We plan on coming back here and have told many of our friends about this place. Just looking at the food right now is making me hungry, and I’ve got to crash in bed in a min lol

5 /5 Julie Smith: What a gem of a restaurant overlooking Herne Bay sea front. We had a lovely meal comprising pate with onion chutney; chicken with king prawns in a rich creamy sauce with Jersey Royal potatoes and salad; chocolate Truffle cake for dessert: I had cream and Hubby opted for Salted Caramel ice cream. All courses beautifully presented and absolutely delicious.

4 /5 Kevin Kay: Dined at Charlie’s on a Sunday afternoon with my partner and two young daughters. Situated just off the seafront, with plenty of parking nearby, Charlie’s is a convenient place to stop and grab a bite. Staff were friendly and efficient and the menu had plenty to choose from at very reasonable prices. My partner and children went for the Carvery, while I opted for the roast beef ciabatta. All very nice, although my roast beef was a little on the gristly side. Would certainly recommend, the outdoor seating area would be very nice on a warm day.

3 /5 Hayley J Bacon: VISIT DATE: SUN 26/10/2025 VISIT TIME: 12:45 - 14:30 Came in for Sunday roast carvery with family whilst on October half-term holiday. The building looks a little tatty and the seating area is quite small, but it is clearly an extremely popular local venue, with lots of people in. They also host regular events and themed nights, by the look of posters and flyers on display, Staff were friendly and helpful, coming out from behind the small counter area leading off from the kitchen to serve. The carvery was off to the side, in a smaller room, with a selection of meats and vegetables. Good Yorkshires and stuffing was really nice. The gravy is made with red wine, so if you don’t like it with wine, make sure to avoid covering your dinner with it ands ask for some to be made up for you without wine. Unfortunately, this isn’t advertised, so you won’t realise until it’s too late, unless you’ve read this review! They had a nice selection of puddings and I really enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding with custard, which was not only delicious, but also nicely presented. The Apple Crumble also looked great and I’m assured tasted as good as it looked! Food was reasonably priced and had a really home cooked feel. Accessibility wise, there are a couple of small steps into the building, so not suitable for non-ambulatory wheelchair users. It is also very crowded in the seating area. Toilet is basic, but serviceable. One thing I didn’t like was spotting the owner / chef having a quick vape whilst inside, behind the counter, but other than that, was a good experience.
