Danson Stables - (Near Bexley, South East)

4 /5 Clive Leaper: A solid 4 star review. The location is fabulous, the building marvellous. Seems on a sunny day like today a lot of others had the same idea. We went at lunchtime and the staff were really busy. We think they forgot our ploughmans sharing platter, we waited for about 40 minutes before enquiring then it appeared about 10 mins later. Its not a complaint but an observation. As I say a lovely place to watch the world go by. We would recommend the place but would order a bit sooner next time, wed had a couple of drinks before ordering then a few more whilst waiting. Hic.

3 /5 David O: This was our first visit to Danson Stables. The setting and surrounding area are lovely and very dog-friendly. The outside of the pub looks great, although the inside was fairly average. There were lots of dogs in the pub and they were all very well behaved. Unfortunately, the same couldn’t be said for some of the children, who were running around like maniacs and treating the place like a playground. We did complain, but nothing was done about it. The food, however, was really good. We had the roast shared platter and a burger, both of which were excellent. A definite thumbs up for the food and drink. Our waitress, Niah, also deserves a special mention as she was friendly and attentive. Later in the afternoon I had to use the disabled toilet, which was honestly disgusting. It clearly hadn’t been checked all day and there was no toilet roll for the entire afternoon. I complained three times and ended up having to use serviettes from the table, which really isn’t acceptable. On previous days the toilets were signed off every hour, but this seemed to be completely missed on Sunday. Would we go back? Yes, just about. But they really need to listen to customers and make sure basic things like toilet checks are done properly, as this was sadly lacking on our visit.

1 /5 Elly Trobe: Beautiful pub, nice enough staff (couple of rude girls who looked hungover af) but the food is an absolute shocker! If you’re coming order stuff that you know can easily be microwaved. The Sunday roast was abysmal. We got a mix of kids, veggie and trio of meat. The veg was ridiculous - pre cut baton carrots boiled, sugar snap peas boiled to death, frozen sad yorkshires, and the worst cauliflower cheese (we actually laughed) - defrosted cauliflower with mozzarella cheese melted on top with no sauce. The veggie one they also ran out of the veg main so randomly shoved a spicy Morroccan veg patty on top and it was an insane choice. We also had some burger orders and they were again rubbish frozen things with poor quality lettuce, tomato and onions on top - wilted and gross. We decided not to order desert as we were genuinely disappointed. Food on other tables looked poor too. A pub that pretty in a giant park should be rammed on a Sunday but it wasn’t. Go for a walk, but skip the pub!

5 /5 Lisa Payne: Have been here twice in the past couple of weeks and each time guest commented on how lovely it is to have a pub in Danson Park. The pub also allows and encourages dogs, and it feels like a doggie meet-up place. It is wonderfully friendly. My Sauvignon Blancs were very good and the service is excellent. Nicely decorated for Christmas with the decor inside and lights outside. Thoroughly recommend if you’re on a walk in the park or just as a pub to visit.

5 /5 Yuvraj Chauhan: One of my favorite pubs in the Bexley, lovely staff, perfect beer & drinks, authentic food, and a royal environment. I regularly go here with family and Simba, my Cane Corso. I feel very comfortable, and the customers here are lovely too. I miss the previous manager, Nil; he was a gentleman with positive customer service. All the managers here are lovely and caring. We had the best 31st New Years Eve ever here and created awesome memories again.
