Garage Brunch - (Near Lambeth, South East)

4 /5 Fiona Tracey: Good food, although I never eat it (can’t mix food and booze but looked really good and my friend liked it). Lots of punch on hand, liked that small parties were individually seated. Only issue for me was that it felt a bit lacking in atmosphere and no variety with MCs, DJs but I get that it was probably an undersold event with not many guests so need to budget accordingly.

1 /5 Dawn Mcmaster: This is a great ideas however wasnt executed in the right way. There wasnt enough staff (bar or hospitality) got in and it was literally a club with tables, one had toiletries on it, no organisation or no direction (names could have been allocated on tables). I dont think it should be sold as a 2 course meal, the meal was served on paper plates, one piece of chicken, two scoops of rice and a small amount of colslaw. The second course of a dessert was 4 pieces of small brownies, drizzled with honey and a strawberry cut into 4 (for our table of 5), the plastic knife and forks just gave a cheap feel. The atmosphere was off, when I asked for a horn the member staff ignored us and gave the horns to other people. Ordered 2 redbulls and it came to £9 seem no punches for people rhat dont drink. I think better organisation, maybe spent a little more on this would have made the experience better. The organisers were taking videos and photos, which is a bit off putting if you are trying to enjoy yourself, they had a professional photographer which was good for those who wanted to take pictures. The music was great. I wont be going again though.

3 /5 Sarah Nelson: Overall was a great day, music, DJs, MCs were brilliant! Food was ok (had no idea what it would be until it was put in front of you) this particular day was Jerk chicken & rice. Bottomless cocktails were from 12-1 (again had no idea what these cocktails were going to be) seemed to be like a sex on the beach (who knows) and to be fair they kept coming, was never an empty glass. Once that hour was over we ordered drinks at the bar, as it was a birthday we ordered 3 bottles of prosecco which cost £170 - extortionate! next round was 2 spirits and mixers, 1 bottle of beer and 12 shots - this was £120. We did question it and was told we didnt specifically ask for single spirits, even so it seems a little off. The brunch cost £53 a ticket and although music was really good and the venue was great I dont think there is any value for money at all. we also didnt know where it would be as it was a secret until the Monday before the event, it was in Clapham which is fine but I would really rather know before booking. To end it there were rumours of drink spiking and an ambulance was called for someone meaning we were all asked to leave 30 mins before the scheduled finish time. I hope shes ok! Just for the overall cost of the day, I wouldnt do this brunch again.
