Hokkaido Teppanyaki Restaurant - (Near Lewisham, South East)

5 /5 Dianne Cooper: Our second visit to Hokkaido confirmed its status as an exceptional Japanese restaurant. Initially, we enjoyed an à la carte meal from one of the standard tables, offering a fantastic view of the chefs cooking station. Every dish we selected was incredibly delicious, and the service was faultless. So impressed, we decided to return just a few days later for the chefs table experience. It was a quiet, early Tuesday night, creating an intimate setting. I chose the meat set menu, while my husband went for the blackened cod – we happily shared, finding each and every dish to be divine and utterly mouth-watering. Seriously, its impossible to recommend just one; they were all truly mind-blowing! A standout detail is that the chef meticulously prepares all his own sauces. The delightful owner, incredibly knowledgeable, took the time to explain each dish, its ingredients, and its preparation, adding another layer to our appreciation. The chefs skill was captivating, turning our meal into a true culinary performance – a night at the theatre in itself. The warm sake was the perfect accompaniment. Having spent time in Japan, I can confidently say this is the finest Japanese food I have ever tasted.

5 /5 Adam Randles: We’ve passed this place many times and we finally went in, wow what an experience. Some of the best food I’ve ever had. Cooked infront of you. Great place to hang with friends and family. We’ll be back for sure and certainly recommend. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth every penny. - Special mention to Master Chef Hua! There is no surprise they are opening another place in Mayfair next year.

5 /5 Josh Cohen: Had a absolutely phenomenal experience in both excellent tasting food, service and experience. All of the staff are lovely, personable and want you to enjoy your time there. When I asked for advice on certain items I got very helpful information I wouldnt have known and it helped lead to a fabulous meal. All the food was completely fresh and perfectly cooked. The attention to detail and meal left me a relatively big guy, wonderfully full. If you want a sublime eating experience in a beautiful setting i highly recommend coming here with everyone, I know I will be again!

5 /5 wan kod: Super lovely experience and 100% worth the price!!! Staff are really friendly and lovely as well;) We had 1 seafood set and 1 meat set for two to share and it’s perfect coz we could try most of the items! Scallops, lamb and beef are my favourite !!!

The chef was incredibly skilled and entertaining, turning the entire meal into a show while still delivering outstanding food. Every dish was cooked to perfection — the steak was tender and flavorful, the seafood was fresh and perfectly seasoned, and the fried rice was hands down the best I’ve had. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made sure everyone felt taken care of. Great food, great service, and great entertainment all in one place. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough and will definitely be back! I also need to add how amazing they were with catering for my nephew with severe fish and nut allergies. Thank you for an amazing experience.
