4 /5 Keith Delves: Excellent location, Beautiful building and decor. Food very good although menu a little restricted with limited options and the same each day. Breakfast buffet also very good Excellent range and choice. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Would return.

3 /5 Gail Ellis: One night stay 20/02/26. Had three course meal in restaurant. Starter was not a very good leek and potato soup, quite watery and not much flavour. Main chicken breast looked insipid and was not very warm. Glazed carrots turned out to be one carrot not very warm. Plate swimming with yellow looking liquid presume it was butter. Referred to as potatoes Anna on the menu. Couldn’t eat them looked awful. Sweet was good. Bar area very noisy.

1 /5 caroline shanahan: This Business doesnt deserve any rating. Had Christmas dinner with my family there on xmas day. It was the worst restaurant I have ever been to. The service & the food was terrible. There were no check backs, we had to que for our food which took 20 mins (Buffet with one server) the food was cold & sitting in oil. The Turkey was a compressed type of meat that looked like it came from Iceland & was tough to chew. I asked if they had any beef that was actually cooked, they sent my beef to the microwave to cook through, but for £150 per person isnt acceptable. The deserts were cold & a family member had to get the desert heated up in a microwave, the cold deserts were warm. The whole experience was awful. We tried to complain & the manager was very dismissive & rude & said we had to email a complaint. Which my daughter did, & after a few emails back n forth the manager was still dismissive, & had felt they met the standards. we spent £775 which was paid for in full at the beginning of 2025, they asked for all the money upfront, no option for a deposit. There were many families complaining on the day & was also dismissed by the manager. It seems they hope the problem goes away. After the last email my daughter sent there was no reply. I will be taking this further, Resolver, google reviews etc legal advice & possibly court action if advised. please dont book this restaurant for food. the service is absolutely disgusting. some family members ate a small portion of the food & 3 of us sent our food back, and two of us had bad tummies, which kicked in while at the restaurant. So not only were we a split family queuing for 20 mins at a time for food but we spent time in the bathroom, which meant we wasnt all sitting together at any one time. It dominated our conversation on the day & ruined our experience. we went home deflated & despondent & felt sad our day was spoilt not only with bad food but the service & management. Avoid this Hotel

4 /5 Juliet Daniel: Our first impression was okay. When we arrived our "deluxe double" was a bit underwhelming. It was split between two rooms and our "lounge area" was 2 chairs and a table rather than a more advertised sofa. There was no fridge or bathtub, although the bathtub was not guaranteed according to the website. The bedroom was okay although we discovered a number of dead bugs in the windowsill and on top of the window. We were woken up in the middle of the night when the radiator made a huge rurring sound, which was only remedied by turning off the heating. We reported it to reception the next morning and they were very kind to send up both a cleaner and a guy to check out the radiator. They also gave us a complementary late checkout. They handled it very professionally and swiftly which we really appreciated. There were some events on, they are a huge wedding venue, so noise at time was loud although our room was thankfully far enough you could only somewhat hear it. I will say that the parking situation was pretty poor when weddings are hosted because the guests take up 99% of the parking so going out to dinner and back as a hotel guest was not as ideal. The gardens were great and the ground are nice to walk around. The staff also provided us with a lovely walking trail map which was a calm 1.5 hour walk by the river. We would come back again, but I think a cheaper room is probably better value for money given the deluxe double didnt seem anything too special.

1 /5 sahra sahibi: I booked this hotel specifically for my wedding preparations and bridal photoshoot, expecting a comfortable and professional experience. Unfortunately, the stay was deeply disappointing and caused significant distress. On arrival, one of the rooms had a strong and unpleasant smell, requiring an immediate room change. Although reception arranged this, it caused disruption on an already important and time-sensitive day. Later that night, both rooms became extremely cold, despite outside temperatures being around -5°C. The night team attended several times and provided portable heaters, which were ineffective. We were then moved again in the middle of the night. The replacement rooms were no warmer, and by around 4:00am all six of us were forced to squeeze into one room just to keep warm. Portable heaters and repeated room changes would not have been necessary if the central heating had been functioning properly. This was particularly upsetting given the significance of the occasion and the fact that we paid over £800 for the stay. There was also confusion and inconsistency regarding permission for wedding photography, despite prior written agreement with hotel staff. Being stopped mid-photoshoot added further stress at an already emotional time. Following the stay, I raised these issues formally and requested a refund. This request has been refused, and my experience has been repeatedly dismissed, despite written email confirmation regarding the photoshoot and the events of the night. While there is no monetary value that can truly compensate for the damage caused to the most special day of my life, the distress and disruption I experienced will stay with me forever. I would welcome a public response from hotel management to explain how this situation occurred edited 02/02/2026 Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately the matter remains unresolved. Despite extensive correspondence and written evidence regarding the heating failure and photography permission, my request for a fair resolution has been refused and my experience has been dismissed. I remain open to resolving this directly and would welcome meaningful engagement rather than a generic response. Given the significance of this booking, I hope management will reconsider.
