Open Bakery - (Near East Sussex, South East)

5 /5 oliwia: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Open Bakery is, without exaggeration, the best bakery I have ever been to in the UK and I genuinely don’t think anything will ever come close. I lived in Brighton for a year and I was literally living right in front of it, in a flat across the street. It became part of my week and I still think about it all the time. The pastries are so unreal that I don’t even have a single photo… because the second I walked in, I couldn’t even consider taking my phone out. Everything was eaten immediately. That’s how good it was. The atmosphere inside is perfect, warm, cosy, inviting, and just the kind of place that instantly makes you happy. And the staff are genuinely some of the friendliest people ever. It’s not just a bakery, it feels like a little Brighton treasure. They have incredible bread and so many other bakes, but I have to mention my favourite pastry of all time: the chocolate and almond croissant. I am not joking when I say I still dream about it. Flaky, rich, indulgent, perfect in every possible way. I would travel back to Brighton purely to eat it again. I live in the North now, and I swear there is simply nothing up here that compares. And honestly… if Open Bakery would ever ship so far, I will be the first person placing an order 100%! Brighton people don’t realise how lucky they are.

4 /5 P S: The vegan tiramisu is to die for!! So decadent, creamy and rich, yet it’s light and has the perfect amount of sweetness. It cost £4.70 per piece which is slightly pricey but totally worth it for this level of craftsmanship. I wish they did more vegan options! The only other option was Eccles cake which didn’t seem appetising. I had initially visited their Queens Park location but they don’t stock the tiramisu which was super disappointing, would be great if it was available at all sites. Will be ordering an entire slab off their online website next time, it’s a must have for all vegans visiting Brighton!

5 /5 Myatkaung Lwin: Five star cake and pastry! I got my birthday cake from open bakery ordered by my wife. Cake was very good texture with refreshing taste decorated with Berries. Can’t love it more. Coffee was nice. Staffs were welcoming!

5 /5 Jeanne James: Great bread selections, their pastries wonderful, all fresh and no nasties in their produce. Some things are hit and miss; the dauphinoise pie can be dry and need more cream. The ricotta and spinach pie I had for lunch today had no seasoning and barely any ricotta and rammed tight with so much spinach, it was not a pleasant thing to eat. But usually great produce and great service. Online orders for ease as it does get very busy.
