5 /5 Suzanne Green: We have just had a fabulous couple of nights at this wonderful hotel. The rooms are not too luxurious. The furniture and pictures on the wall are outdated and there are places where carpets are worn and walls need repainting. However the beds are extremely comfortable and the rooms are extremely clean. What makes this hotel so special (other than its age and location) is the people working in it. It is a Greene King chain but it feels like a family run hotel. Every person we met was charming, helpful and it made the whole stay so pleasurable. The other thing that was incredible was the quality of food. We rarely eat in the same place for two nights in a row but the first night was so good, we had to go back to experience some more of the chefs food. The second night was as fabulous as the first. The breakfast was outstanding too with an excellent cooked breakfast, delicious pastries and range of fresh fruit, cereals and teas. We are talking about taking our grown up children back there again soon as we were so impressed.

2 /5 Simon Thomas: Very disappointing, chicken and ham pie advertised as award winning! Pie was half empty with perfectly square cubes of processed chicken, ham wasnt visible and pastry was half cooked. Obviously brought in frozen. Ive honestly had better Pukka pies. Broccoli was hard and raw. Gravy was without doubt bisto granules. Staff didnt ask if the meal was ok, I wasnt going to waste my time complaining to staff as apologies dont mean much after food has been served, its more effective to tell everybody.

5 /5 Dikla Gidoni: We booked a twin room in low season, the price is fantastic including a full delicious breakfast. The room is simple though clean and has all the facilities and basic accessories to make a comfy and very cosy stay. The hotel is quaint, lovely finished and welcoming. The food is excellent, fresh and delicious. And the staff are very sweet and professional, ready to attend any need. The location is lovely, based by the lush green forest where in a short excursion we saw a roebuck!!! (And a squirrel, a rainbow and a beautiful sunset...) I recommend from my heart

5 /5 Pia Waller: I took my partner out for dinner at the restaurant for his 30th birthday and we were not disappointed, the staff were lovely and attentive especially Jamie who was an absolute delight! Always making sure we were okay and had a lovely manner about them. They checked in and made sure we had everything we needed it was wonderful as this was a very special occasion! The food was delightful and the passion fruit lemonade was the BEST! We will definitely come back again!
