The chilli chicken was bursting with flavor, perfectly spicy with a well-balanced sauce that coated each tender piece, making it an absolute delight. The chicken 65 was equally impressive, crispy on the outside yet succulent inside, with a subtle heat and aromatic seasoning that lingered pleasantly. The lamb biryani was a true highlight of the meal, rich in aroma and depth, with perfectly cooked lamb that was soft and flavorful, blended beautifully with fragrant basmati rice and traditional spices. The Kerala paratha was soft, flaky, and fresh, complementing the curries wonderfully, while the dosa was light, crisp, and expertly prepared, adding an authentic South Indian touch to the spread. Beyond the food, the service played a significant role in elevating the experience, as the staff were warm, courteous, and attentive, ensuring everything was served promptly and checking in regularly with genuine care, making the evening feel relaxed, welcoming, and truly worth revisiting.

I came across this restaurant and stepped in mainly because they served dosa — which sounded like the perfect option for a simple dinner. Honestly, I didn’t have high expectations, given my past experiences with other so-called South Indian restaurants. But what a pleasant surprise this turned out to be! The first bite of dosa with their delicious sambar completely won me over. The dosa was perfectly cooked, and the sambar had that authentic, home-style flavor that instantly reminded me of comfort food. I couldn’t resist ordering another simple dish — sambar with white rice — and it was pure satisfaction. It almost felt like that memorable Ratatouille moment when a bite transports you back to a comforting homemade meal. The menu had plenty of other tempting dishes, and I’m already looking forward to returning and trying more when I’m next in Southampton. A special mention to Sandra, who made the experience even better with her warm, cheerful service. She went out of her way to accommodate a custom order that wasn’t even on the main menu — a small gesture that made a big difference.

5 /5 Marilyn Dcosta: Visited this place, lovely, delicious Kerala food, we had starters, must try prawns, lamb thali and chicken thali, had butter chicken, amazing and soft, with butter garlic bread. Sweet lassi was good and mango lassi was good but thick, didnt feel like lassi. They had only 1 chef, so service was slow, but soon another chef to join.

5 /5 Jean Mitchele Delmo: I’m not Indian and didn’t grow up eating Indian food, but I’m married to a South Indian guy, and Srav’s Kitchen is the place where he truly satisfies his cravings. I really enjoyed eating the food. The lamb biryani was aromatic and the meat was really tender, the chicken 65 was crispy and full of flavour, and the fish fry was fresh and perfectly cooked. Visiting here even inspired me to start cooking South Indian dishes myself. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore authentic South Indian cuisine in Portswood Road, Southampton.

1 /5 Rithu Maria Jose: I went here in search of a part time job and had a very uncomfortable experience. The owner and the tandoor chef behaved in a creepy manner, and the way they looked at me made me feel extremely uneasy. I only stayed for a trial day and decided to quit immediately because I did not feel safe or comfortable there. As a customer, I had ordered biryani from this place earlier and it was just okayish, nothing special. Overall, based on my experience, I would not recommend this place. They are exploiting international students.
