4 /5 Travelling Doc: A charming little spot with outdoor seating right on Hollywood Road, just across from the Chelsea Hospital. They serve a range of coffees, pastries, fresh salads, and—most notably—made-to-order baguettes with some genuinely unique flavour combinations. I tried the roast chicken baguette, and it was a standout. The chicken was freshly grilled and served warm in a toasted, buttered baguette, layered with walnuts and a mildly sweet cheese that balanced the savoury flavours beautifully. The addition of walnuts was unusual but worked really well. It definitely beats the pre-packed sandwiches you’d find at chains like Pret. Each order comes in a small serving box, which you then place in a brown paper bag—simple but thoughtful packaging. Be aware: the baguettes do take a little time to prepare, but that’s the trade-off for freshly made food. Absolutely worth the wait. The flat white, however, was disappointing. While cheaper than most nearby coffee spots, the cardboard cup had a strong taste that came through when drinking without the lid. The coffee itself was just okay. I also tried the chocolate brownie, which was fairly average—not bad, but nothing special.

The service is top notch as the staff are super friendly, and make an excellent flat white and baguette! Really nice music as well that isn’t too loud and contributes to the traditional cafe atmosphere :)

From the moment you step inside, the aroma of freshly baked bread and roasted coffee fills the air. It feels like a slice of a Parisian café right in the heart of Chelsea. The menu is simple yet packed with flavour. They focus on quality ingredients and freshness, and you can taste that in every bite. My wife had visited before and wanted me to try it. I’m glad she did, because this place is a real find. I ordered the French-style mixed Tuna and Rocket baguette. The baguette itself was perfectly baked, light yet crisp, with a soft interior. The filling had the right balance of tuna, fresh greens, and seasoning. It was one of the best tuna sandwiches I have had in London. My wife went for the Tomato, Basil Oil, and Avocado with Mozzarella baguette. It was another excellent choice. The combination of creamy avocado, fresh tomato, and soft mozzarella worked beautifully with the crusty baguette. To drink, I tried their freshly squeezed orange juice, which was refreshing and full of flavour. You can tell it was made to order, with no bitterness or artificial taste. Their coffee is also worth mentioning. Rich, smooth, and full-bodied, it’s a great way to start or finish your meal. The owner deserves special praise. He is very friendly and welcoming, and you can see how much care he puts into every order. He made sure everything was fresh and even offered my wife a soup sample. She had tried the Mushroom soup on a previous visit and loved it. This time, she tried the Broccoli soup served with cheesy bread, and it was just as good. Creamy, warm, and comforting, it paired perfectly with the bread. The soups here are clearly made with the same care and quality as the rest of the menu. The Baguette Deli may not be large, but it’s full of charm and character. The décor is simple, clean, and inviting, letting the food take centre stage. The service is friendly and personal, and it feels like the kind of place where regulars are remembered. This spot is a hidden gem in Chelsea. Whether you want a quick lunch, a relaxed breakfast, or just a good cup of coffee and a pastry, it’s worth stopping by. Everything is freshly made, from the baguettes to the soups, and the flavours are consistently excellent. There are so many tempting options on the menu that I’m already planning my next visit. The French toast caught my eye, and I’ll be trying that next time. If you enjoy authentic French food and appreciate good service, The Baguette Deli is well worth a visit. It’s one of those places that makes you slow down and enjoy simple, well-made food. A true taste of France in the heart of Chelsea.
