5 /5 Pagan Evans: Wow, oh wow! The Bedford truly impressed us! From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly welcoming, and the décor was the perfect blend of warm, cosy, and chic. We came for the Sunday roast after hearing amazing things, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. I had the lamb, which was melt-in-the-mouth delicious, and my partner and daughter had the topside beef, which they devoured. We will 100% be returning. I’m already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you again to The Bedford for a wonderful afternoon x

5 /5 Tracey Kemp: I have driven past this place for 30 years and never second glanced. Wow !! What seems like a quiet run of the mill local pub opened its doors to a beautifully decorated interior with the plushest, cleanest, most comfortable hotel rooms. A log fire, comfortable sofas and seating with a beautiful outside area. The hosts Grant and Sam were amazing, I stayed there on my own whilst on crutches and they looked after me so well, making sure I had everything I needed. I arrived xmas eve and although it was packed, there was a quiet calming presence where everybody seemed to have a cocktail in hand. Christmas dinner was fabulous and after being met with a bucks fizz I was served an amuse bouche of a prawn boot and a starter of chicken liver pate and sour dough crostini beautifully presented and struggled when my main course arrived with the biggest yorkshire pudding Ive ever seen. I managed to get through a mountain of turkey served with freshly cooked vegetables and a parsnip infused puree. I do not eat parsnips as a rule but it complimented the foo d perfectly. I had to retire to my room after dinner but the lovely Sam made sure my dessert and cheese board were brought up to me. I could go on and on about the friendly dog loving locals but Id be here all night. I met some new friends and look forward to returning on my birthday in Feb to rinse the cocktail menu and sample the superb culinary skills of the chef. I forgot about that person and should have bought them a beer or 2. Thank you for making my first solo xmas one to remember, I look forward to seeing you again

5 /5 Holly Casio: This is without a doubt the best veggie roast Ive EVER had. We went here for the festive Xmas menu with family. I had the veggie dinner, my family had meat options and all of us were blown away. Ive been veggie for 20 years and Im so used to average bland veggie roast dinners that I just never have high expectations now, but this was incredible. So much rich flavour, fresh produce, incredibly generous portions. The butternut squash wellington was so tasty and was served with thyme infused parsnip puree, all the trimmings, and a Yorkshire pudding bigger than my head. Brilliant friendly and welcoming staff, a banging soundtrack, and super dog friendly. We had a wonderful time and I cant recommend the food enough for meat lovers and veggies alike, you will not be disappointed!

5 /5 Ben Jakob Cudworth: The last time I walked into this pub I was soaked to the bone, the bar was thick with smoke, and I was grateful just to be offered what was essentially a mattress on the floor and a bowl of peanuts. Tonight was a completely different story. I was genuinely shocked. The place is stunning now — beautifully decorated, warm, relaxed, and with that perfect dim lighting you normally only get in the smarter London squares. Spotless. Stylish. Welcoming. The staff were lovely, and the food was excellent. The “small plates” are not small (thankfully) and we ordered most of the menu. Highlights included the chorizo bites, homemade bread in the little paper bag, the beetroot salad (delicious), bang bang cauliflower, olives, flatbreads, and the chocolate cheesecake which was dangerously good. Even the garden has had a glow-up — cosy, sheltered, and with a kind of handmade beachside feel. All in all, very impressive. A forgotten gem, rediscovered. We’ll definitely be back.

5 /5 Hannah: We regularly go here for drinks and love it, great people and the cocktails are brilliant. Last weekend we went for a roast and it was superb, the food was incredible and we will definitely be back!
