3 /5 Vahid Serpooshan: The Gate in North London is a lovely cottage-style restaurant that offers a warm, inviting atmosphere perfect for a relaxed meal. The setting is one of its biggest strengths—with cozy indoor seating and beautifully arranged outdoor spaces, it’s a great spot for both sunny days and quiet evenings.
The food was excellent. The sea bass fillet and the salmon dish were both standouts—fresh, well-cooked, and full of flavor. You can tell the kitchen puts care into the ingredients and presentation.
It took them forever to come attend us, extremely slow.
If there’s one downside, it’s the service. While the staff were friendly, the pace was noticeably slow. It took longer than expected to get our food and drinks, which made the meal feel a bit drawn out.
Still, the quality of the food and the ambiance more than made up for it. If you’re not in a rush and want to enjoy a relaxed dining experience in a picturesque setting, The Gate is absolutely worth a visit.
