5 /5 Diane Richardson: We booked a table of 8 with 3 smallish dogs for Sunday lunch, we needed to add 2 guests fairly last minute and the staff were very accommodating and made it work, even though fully booked. The dogs were made to feel welcome, which meant I could relax more.
Everyone who ordered the beef roast loved it - very tasty, came with Yorkshires, veg and roast potatoes, we also ordered cauliflower cheese as a side. Those who had pork said it was a little dry but the crackling was amazing - overall we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch - thank you.
Service at the table was excellent - regularly checking if we needed more drinks and helpful and friendly. We were a little rushed at the end, as they had another sitting coming in, as we were one of the last tables to get our food, it didnt leave much time for dessert, so a little tweak on customer flow may be beneficial and to make customers aware when booking how much time they have. We were however, welcomed at the bar to continue with our catch up with friends.
Tables are a little squeezed in and made it a little awkward to get in out and of seats without disturbing the table next to us. Also being a party of 8, who hadnt seen each other for a long time, we were probably quite loud, so maybe bigger tables shouldnt be too close to a 2 person table?
Overall it was a very good experience and food was lovely, especially based on the amount of covers they have to do. Its popular for a reason! Thanks for a lovely lunch and making us welcome.
