1 /5 Sue Wilson: Fish finger sandwich - brown fish filling, and utterly unacceptable food quality. On checking past reviews it seems the management have been aware of the poor quality for a while and not addressed the problem, despite charging ‘good food’ rates. It’s a shame; beautiful historic building with no pride in their menu standard. Could be an amazing experience if this issue was addressed.

5 /5 Angela Bennett: Today, for the fifth year running we had our usual Pre-Christmas lunch at the Tudor tearooms in Whitstable. We like to try and visit as often as we can because the food is always so good, the staff are so friendly and the atmosphere is calm and cosy. Today was the last day of the Christmas menu and, as ever, it was the closest to our own Christmas Day meal as we have ever had. There were four of us, at the last sitting (2pm) and all of us had the (turkey and all the trimmings main course. Three os had the prawn cocktail which is exactly what we have at home, very often as a first course to a Sunday roast and always on Christmas Day. Served with brown bread and butter it was generous helping. The turkey roadtbwasbscrumptiousvwith four veg and extra gravy was available sausagemeat stuffing together with a largebsdd as usage wrapped in bacon were tasty accompaniments. Two of us had Christmas pudding with delicious custard and well made pudding it was. Again, I don’t eat Christmas pudding anywhere else as we make our own Christmas puddings to an old traditional family recipe so other than the Tudor tearooms no other comes even close! One of our group had the cheesecake and especially loved the shards of stem ginger, whilst the other had the black forest dessert which she said was delicious. A small glass of mulled wine started the lovely meal admirably. Wonderful usual, looking forward to next year - our Christmas starts with this visit where we always take a group photo on the beach! I’m already looking forward to my next visit and midweek roast dinner!

3 /5 Steven Blench: Went for breakfast after specsavers. As we havent been here for a couple of years. Only a couple of tables occupied. Ordered a pot of decaf tea for me and an expresso with sparkling water for Sis. Sis ordered a cheese omelette with a side of buttered toast. Looked good made with strong cheddar, just a bit strong for her. I ordered the smoked haddock on bubble & squeak, topped with poached egg finished with hollandaise sauce and a side of fried bread. Skin on smoked haddock was well cooked & tasty as the poached egg was. Let down was the bubble and squeak with chunks of carrot in and lacked seasoning, and the fried bread was the worst. A thick crust soft, not crispy photo shows the oil soaking part way up. The fried bread was to add a bit of crunch. I managed one half, which wasnt oily. Shame would have been a four. The tea pot didnt keep the water hot, so the second cup was lukewarm. Liked the tea strands as opposed to leaves/bags.

1 /5 Sue Wilson: I wasn’t going to review this place because the lady didn’t charge us for anything. However, due to reading past reviews from other dissatisfied customers, which have been ignored, I decided to post. Last Sunday we decided on fish finger sandwiches at the Tudor Restaurant and was disgusted to find that they were cheap, old, thin ‘fish fingers’. They tasted rank and looked awful as you will see by the photo. When we complained they challenged us by taking a photo of a cheap, frozen ‘Young’s’ fish finger packet to show us, as if that was supposed to validate the quality. Not good enough. It’s a shame because they have a terrific old building in a beautiful old seaside town, but clearly no respect for their customers or enthusiasm for their service. They didn’t charge us for the sandwiches or the coffees which was appropriate given the service and diabolical quality of food. The staff were nice ladies, but whoever is responsible for the quality of products served need to take ownership for what they are providing at this restaurant; or align their pricing to ‘local cafe’ pricing, not price-matching with the many other quality food establishments in Whitstable. They need to change things drastically before customers abandon it or health and safety get involved. What a shame. I hope they act immediately.

1 /5 Dwayne Richmond: I’m not one to usually moan but this is un expectable from chef to chef .. I ordered a sausage & egg mc muffin and received this … Dehydrated 2 day old sausages salty disgusting … stale muffin sorry but in such a small town they need to up there game !
