5 /5 3llis: I recently had a party on the middle and top floors at vertigo lounge in Hornchurch, the staff was lovely, drinks was fairly cheap and the venue was very nice especially the roof terrace. Will definitely be going back!

5 /5 Tayla Claringbull: Recently had my baby shower party at Vertigo lounge and honestly couldn’t fault it. We had the ground floor hired out due to needing disabled toilet access and it was the perfect day. From start to finish, Sam and Rob were great with any questions I had, the booking process etc. Rob was on hand on the day and made everything so seamless, anything we wanted moved around or accommodated for, he made sure it happened. There was a lovely lady working behind the bar too but I didn’t catch her name, but both her & Rob really made our day. Some of the negative reviews on here made us apprehensive but genuinely, I couldn’t fault it for a venue and would highly recommend.

5 /5 Joanna Locking: We hired out the 2nd and 3rd floor for a surpise 50th which went swimmingly, it was a perfect evening in every way, all thanks to Sam who coordinated the party right down to the arranging the Dj, decorations and the food. The venue looked absolutely amazing and we would definitely hold another gathering here again! Thanks Jo :) A⭐️

1 /5 Terry Whitty: Shocking. Pure filth. We had a party on the middle floor and the carpet was sticky, toilets felt they had NEVER been cleaned. Bar staff always on their phones and chatting. How is this place still open?

1 /5 James Ritchie: Honestly, I don’t even need to say much — the other reviews already show how terrible this place is. However, the main issue tonight was security. If the security guard had the decency to check my ID properly, he would have seen that I work within health and safety. After what I experienced tonight and the way I was treated — especially as the brother of the person who hosted the event — I was shocked. Wearing an SIA badge does not give anyone the right to speak to people however they want. Based on his behaviour, I seriously doubt he will be holding his SIA licence for much longer. In fact, I would be more than happy to check whether he even has a valid licence, because I don’t see how someone who acts and speaks the way he does could have passed the required training. I may also request my company to carry out a DBS check, as I question whether he should even be working in security at all. As the owner, you should be teaching your staff how to speak to people with respect and ensuring they are properly trained. From what I saw, none of the security staff appeared to be adequately trained or even hold a Health & Safety Level 2 qualification. To be honest, it doesn’t look like you do either. After looking more closely at your business, I don’t believe it would survive a proper inspection. In the future, show everyone respect — you never know who you might be dealing with or who has the authority to have your business investigated. P.S. There is a leak in the ceiling on the second floor, which is a serious health and safety risk, along with several other issues I noticed. I will be passing this information on to whoever carries out your inspections so these matters can be looked into properly. James Ritchie Badge code 75D12YQS
