Villa Marchese - (Near Barnet, South East)

Yosmary Pestana I’ve spent a lot of time at Gail’s in High Barnet during my maternity leave. As a new mum, finding places that genuinely feel welcoming and practical can be surprisingly difficult, but Gail’s really stands out on the high street. It’s one of the few coffee shops locally with accessible bathroom facilities for mums with babies, including a proper baby changing facility. That alone makes such a difference. Every time I come in with the buggy, the team are kind and helpful. They often open the door for me when they can and have never once made me feel awkward or uncomfortable about bringing the pram inside. Sadly, that hasn’t been my experience everywhere on the high street. Some places make you feel like arriving with a baby and buggy is an inconvenience, almost as though you are a liability rather than a paying customer. Gail’s is the complete opposite. The team are warm, welcoming and understanding, which means so much during those early months when even leaving the house can feel like an achievement. On top of that, the food and coffee are consistently great, and the café is always clean and comfortable. It has been a lovely and reliable place to spend time, meet other mums, or simply enjoy a quiet coffee. Well done to the team at Gail’s High Barnet. You have created a space that genuinely welcomes mums and babies, and it does not go unnoticed.

serena f Absolutely love Everyman Cinema Barnet. The seats are incredibly comfy (with the option of single arm chairs or a 2 peraon sofa), the whole place is clean and well looked after, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The food and drink selection is great and really tasty which makes the whole experience feel special. Huge bonus that there’s a big free car park too. Highly recommend!

NPC Helen’s Kitchen is an absolute gem. I had the banh mi and it was incredible. Perfectly crisp bread, fresh crunchy veg, loads of flavour, and beautifully seasoned meat. Every bite was spot on. PORK BELLY BANH MI IS A MUST TRY! The staff are SUPER friendly, cosy atmosphere, feels like you’re entering to eat at someone’s home, and food that genuinely stands out. So happy this place is local. Unfortunately the limit is only 5 stars, it definitely deserves 10 and more!!

deborah beckford Valeries catered for our annual Community Awards event, which 150 guests attended. The food was amazing, the service was amazing and Sarah and Dwane were amazing too! So professional and wanted to provide the best service possible, which they did. The feedback we received from our guests were so positive, so a win, win! Jairo A Jaramillo Been here several times, the most recent for my wifes birthday and a hearty Sunday roast. Booked on the day, lovely conservatory table looking out onto the fields. Excellent food, portions and patience for my 4 year old occasionally walking with me to explore the pub and the great crackling open fire place. Also great for summer, its a staple for me now. Strong recommend!

Yaseen The food at Mayhek was absolutely delicious every single dish was full of rich flavour and freshly made. We had a big variety (seafood, meat curries, naan, and vegetable dishes) and everything came out piping hot and beautifully spiced. The garlic naan was soft and fluffy, the curries were packed with depth, and the sizzling prawns were a highlight. The service was friendly and welcoming throughout the staff made sure we were looked after and topped things up quickly. The atmosphere is cosy with a nice cultural touch, making it a comfortable place to sit down and enjoy a proper meal. For me, this was a very satisfying dining experience. The food really stands out as one of the best Indian spots I’ve tried, and I would happily come back again. Definitely a place I’d recommend if you want authentic, flavourful dishes with great service.
