It was okay, nothing to write home about.
Went to this BBQ place on a Friday evening with a couple of mates. The restaurant has that typical smokehouse vibe: wooden tables, red-checkered napkins, country music in the background. It’s fairly loud and a bit dark inside, but not unpleasant.
We ordered the mixed platter for two (ribs, brisket, pulled pork, chicken wings) plus sides of fries, slaw, and cornbread. The portion was huge, no complaints there. The ribs were tender and fell off the bone, and the brisket had a decent smoke ring, but everything tasted a bit one-note (just sweet BBQ sauce everywhere). The pulled pork was dry in places and the chicken wings were average. Sides were fine: fries were hot and crispy, slaw was creamy, cornbread came out cold.
Service was friendly enough but slow; we waited nearly 45 minutes for the main even though it wasn’t packed. Drinks refills were free, which was nice.
Prices are what you’d expect for BBQ (£50–60 for two with a couple of beers). It’s not bad value, but not amazing either.
Overall, it did the job if you fancy ribs and don’t want to think too hard about dinner. I probably wouldn’t rush back, but I wouldn’t say no if someone suggested it again. Just… middling.2сШвидко
