4 /5 Saul: The Canterbury Roman Museum offers an intriguing glimpse into Roman Britain but is a fairly small museum. Adult tickets are priced at £11, which feels a bit high considering the compact size and limited exhibits. It took us only around 15-20 minutes to explore, and that was with reading most of the information boards. However, what stands out as genuinely fascinating is the museum’s historical context: it’s built on the actual remains of a Roman settlement, uncovered during WWII bombings. The preserved mosaic floors and artifacts offer an authentic look into Roman life, and knowing you’re standing where Romans once lived adds an undeniable charm. While not extensive, the museum is worth a visit if you’re interested in history or looking to experience Canterbury’s rich layers of past civilizations.
