What Clients Are Saying Da Luca Restaurant (GG)
4 /5 Simon Porter: First time here following a recommendation. Hidden away but once inside very welcoming family run traditional Italian restaurant. There was a good selection of daily specials - including lobster. The food was excellent quality and good hearty portions. Desserts were all excellent and homemade. Tremendous value and I will be back..
5 /5 Eva Araujo: Have been wanting to visit Da Luca for a while and the opportunity finally came! Is a small restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere. Luckily we made a booking, it was busy! Staff was welcoming and friendly. I ordered my usual when in an Italian restaurant (pollo milanese) which was nice and very reasonably priced. Some of the pasta dishes I saw looked delicious as well. Will get carbonara next time!
5 /5 Catherine H: What a neighbourhood gem! Went for a special family meal and were really looked after. Unassuming from the outside but this is a lovely warm place and the food, especially the fish on the specials was great. Great choice and something for everyone
5 /5 Lorraine Jackman: This is our local Italian. We love taking visitors here. The staff are lovely and genuine. The food is excellent and never disappoints whether we eat in or take away. Its a real gem of a place and yes they really do have a pizza with chips on!
4 /5 H C: Its my first time here. We took a seat outside, which is chic and comfortable.
The staff are friendly, and the meal arrived quickly. The food is decent, with a creative touch. This was my first time trying a pizza with chips on top.
Overall, its reasonably priced with generous portions.
P Mizell We stopped in for lunch by a recommendation of a local friend. We loved it. Very cool vibe with fantastic food and wine. The service was very friendly and warm.
We split the cheese and meat charcuterie board (with a couple of glasses of wine each) and it was more than enough for lunch. Highly recommend this place, situated in a very cool foodie town.
Victoria Wan Had the set menu which was:
- Snacks - sausage roll and sourdough bread. The pastry was beautifully flakey and the bread was high hydration with a good crust.
- Starter - cheesey tart with salted egg yolk. The tart was crisp and the filling was very flavourful.
- Main - hake with beans.
- Dessert - dark chocolate with blood orange sorbet and EVOO. This was absolutely delicious, the blood orange cut through the richness of the chocolate.
Service was friendly and attentive - thank you.
Atmosphere was cosy and informal.
Would highly recommend especially for a more informal setting.
Molly Carmichael Absolutely incredible evening out for my friends birthday! Beautiful venue, all staff polite and accommodating, so friendly too. Checked on us often, answered all questions and offered suggestions for food and drinks. My friend didn’t like cake but loves pickles so they gave us a pickle cake with candles haha! Bodgan was our server and we cannot thank him enough, 100% recommend and we will be back!
Lucy Fribbens Service slow as barman took forever to pour simple drinks, waitress lovely, friendly and working hard under current circumstances. Staff do not automatically take off the 50% government eat out to help out, we had to ask every time which is disappointing. Food good. Non alcoholic cocktails a huge rip off for what they are, cost pennies to make. Nice environment with comfy chairs and sofas.
Robin Miller This wonderful little place was recommended by a local and I’m glad we took the recommendation! We ended up dining there 3 times in a week. Great food and atmosphere. Quaint, iconic village setting.
