5 /5 Rebecca: Went to Dinner by Heston Blumenthal last night and it really did live up to expectations. We didn’t do the tasting menu (the whole table has to commit, and we prefer ordering different things), but the à la carte more than delivered.
The restaurant itself is spacious and relaxed — definitely on the smart-casual side for fine dining. It feels polished but not stuffy, which makes it easy to enjoy the experience.
The food highlights for us were: the flesh and rice, which was incredible, the duck, which was also excellent, and the tipsy cake, which is every bit as good as people say — rich, comforting, and the perfect ending.
Service was exactly what you’d expect: attentive, smooth, and well judged throughout.
Would absolutely go back, especially if you want exceptional food without the whole ultra-formal fine-dining vibe.
