4 /5 Ummayyah Khalaf: Had breakfast at Drury Covent Garden this morning and honestly it was a lot better than I expected for such a quick stop. I wasnât looking for anything big, just something light to start the day, so I went with a croissant, another coffee, and a grilled egg. Sounds simple, but the whole thing actually came together really nicely.
The place itself has a relaxed vibe, kind of that âLondon cafĂ© but not trying too hardâ feel. People were just doing their own thing â some working, some chatting, some half-asleep like me â and it didnât feel chaotic or rushed at all. The staff were chilled too, not overly chatty but friendly in that normal, human way. They took my order, kept it moving, and didnât make it awkward.
The croissant was warm and soft on the inside with just enough flakiness on the outside, but not the kind that makes crumbs fly everywhere. The grilled egg was actually really good, cooked properly and tasted fresh, not rubbery or dry like you sometimes get. And the coffee⊠honestly, that was the best part. Strong enough to wake me up but still smooth. Not bitter, not burnt, just solid.
I sat there for a little while and the whole breakfast just felt easy and enjoyable. Nothing fancy, nothing dramatic, just a decent morning meal that hit exactly right. Iâd happily swing by Drury Covent Garden again for another quick breakfast like that.
