2 /5 Alison Taffs: We found the food good on our early evening visit: starters delicate and tasty, our lamb and chicken well cooked. Nice to see a Lanzarote Red by the glass. The decor is dynamic the room feels both plush and cosy. Our visit was let down by a chilly welcome: we were a few minutes early and made to wait outside like a couple of naughty children, then given a weird stilted welcome and seated upstairs in the very furthest corner of the room tucked behind the bar, even though the room was completely empty, just felt really weird. I was also directly under a speaker and the music was so loud that we had to raise our voice to speak to each other and to order - we hoped the team would notice, but they didn’t. Our waiter was anxious and awkward; taking away glasses before they were finished and we felt rushed along. He was desperate to take my dessert order at the same time as my starter and main, I had to tell him 3 times that I may not have a dessert, and that I’d decide later. One glass of red was corked and I had to take it to the bar- the bar tender replaced it graciously. When we asked for the bill our waiter muttered about having to take dessert off our bill and had to get a manager to do it. The bill for the food was fair but the 15% for service really seemed like a swizz. Good cooking let down by a very poor service experience.

5 /5 Efe Zeybel: On the first floor there is an Asian restaurant, on the second floor a French restaurant, and on the fourth floor a bar that stays open until 2 a.m. We were at the French restaurant during this visit. The service was excellent — the waiters were warm, friendly, and helpful in every way. The food was very good as well; nothing over the top, but prepared exactly as it should be, and the desserts were also really good. One thing to note specifically about the French restaurant is the sound level: the speakers are a bit loud, which makes conversation slightly difficult if you’re seated close to them or if your ears are sensitive. The music could definitely be played at a lower volume, as it affects table conversation. The bar upstairs is very enjoyable. You can reserve a table in advance if you’d like, and the bar service is fast. There’s also a terrace for smokers. It’s a lively yet cosy environment overall.

4 /5 Judith Baidoo: The night was amazing as it was my friend’s birthday. Later that night there was some confusion with the drink orders and myself having to clarify allergies on behalf of my friends! The dessert I had wasn’t the best but my main meal was wonderful.

4 /5 Miłochna Lachowska: Great atmosphere with live music. Food was great. We had oysters, starters, baby chicken, pasta, steak and desserts. The only thing I disliked the most was that the waiters kept coming every 2 minutes to clear out the table even when we still had food on the plate and drinks in the glass. I had to keep repeating myself to leave it alone. We understand that they give 2 hours but if you take 15% service charge then maybe change something to make sure your customers feel welcomed.

5 /5 Jacy Garland: Highly recommended! We had the most incredible night at House of Louie. We started in the Japanese restaurant on the lower floor, then moved upstairs to the French restaurant, and finished in the Alligator Lounge… and ended up staying all night. The food in both restaurants was outstanding, and the cocktails were some of the best we’ve had in London — beautifully made and dangerously easy to keep ordering. Every space has its own amazing ambience that flows perfectly together, so the whole evening feels like an experience rather than just dinner. The live music was simply beautiful , a pianist sang and played creating at atmosphere like no other. Very unique and special. Such a special place. Can’t wait to come back!
