1 /5 Rowan Hopper: We went to Nando’s last night for dinner after planning it for over a month and were excited, but unfortunately it was very disappointing. Our first table had 2 ants crawling on it and staff didn’t seem particularly concerned when we raised this and asked to move tables. After ordering, we waited 30 minutes without even receiving cups for drinks and had to chase this up, only to be told there was a minimum 30-minute wait for food. This was something we were never informed of when seated. We eventually received our food after around 40 minutes. My partner’s loaded chips were cold and had to be sent back, and while my chicken thighs and sides were tasty, they were only warm rather than hot in temperature. The restaurant atmosphere also felt tense due to how busy it was, and the stress from both the supervisor and the kitchen was very noticeable. While the waiting staff were apologetic, and the supervisor to some extent, nothing could be done at the time other than advising us to email a complaint. Overall, not the experience we expected, especially for a £40 meal.
