4 /5 Theo: A fresh, joyful lunch at [Sushi Bar Name] – one of Londons hidden sushi gems We ducked into this cosy little sushi bar on a busy weekday lunchtime, and it was exactly what we needed: bright, welcoming, with that unmistakable hum of a proper Japanese spot — soft chatter, the gentle clink of plates, and the faint scent of fresh wasabi in the air. Everything felt thoughtfully done. We started with a shared miso soup that was rich and comforting, then dove into the nigiri selection. The salmon was buttery and melt-in-your-mouth, the tuna so fresh it almost tasted like it jumped straight from the sea, and the seabass had this delicate sweetness that lingered perfectly. My favourite was the spicy scallop hand roll — crisp nori, warm rice, creamy scallop with just the right kick of chilli mayo. We also tried the California roll (because why not?) and even that was elevated: perfectly balanced, not too mayo-heavy, with that satisfying crunch from the cucumber. Portions were generous for lunch, the rice seasoned just right (warm and slightly vinegary, the way it should be), and the service was friendly and efficient — our server even gave us a quick tip on the best soy sauce ratio. Prices felt very fair for central London (£25–35 per person including drinks), especially for this level of freshness. If youre craving high-quality sushi without the fuss or sky-high omakase bill, this place delivers pure joy in every bite. Well definitely be back for more — maybe next time for the full omakase if we can snag seats! Highly recommend.

5 /5 Vikrant Patel: Amazing Japanese Dishes, so many choices for both veg and non veg. Ive only had the veg dishes and I can say that each one was so tasty and would highly recommend their Bai buns, gayozas, sushi...list is endless. Definitely worth a try if you havent and looking for quality food. You get free snacks while you wait for your collection. Great customer service...amazing chefs.

5 /5 Olivia: Never been to Sakura Sushi before yesterday, and Im sad I havent! Upon arrival, it smelt amazing, and the guy that served us was very kind and patient with us as we browsed the sushi menu! We picked the Salmon platter which was 2 salmon nigiri, 2 salmon and avocado uramaki, 2 salmon sashimi and 4 salmon maki. We asked for no salmon sashimi and instead 4 salmon and avocado uramaki, and they were very kind in doing so, and keeping the price the same. We waited about 10 minutes, and then they gave us the nicest platter Ive ever had!! Rice was slightly vinegary, but the salmon was fresh, and I couldnt complain. the portions were beyond generous, and ill definitely be going back if not today, then tomorrow!

5 /5 Darcey Wood: Honestly our absolute favourite takeaway! It needs 10 stars. The Chicken Karrage buns are too good. The staff are so lovely and friendly. We are so sad to move away from the area for a while, and will definitely be stopping by whenever we pass south Woodford. Thanks for all the amazing food! James & Darcey
