mai thai restaurant

Mai Thai Restaurant -

Ekleba OS I first visited Mai Thai many years ago, long before the era of widespread online reviews, and the food was amazing even then. After a long absence (for no particular reason!), I recently returned for dinner, and I am happy to report that its just as good as I remember—if not even better. I ordered the Prawn, Basil, and Ginger stir-fry with steamed rice, and the sauce was truly exquisite. Ive had variations of this dish at many other Thai restaurants, and this version at Mai Thai is, without a doubt, the best I have ever tasted. Unfortunately, I devoured it before I remembered to take a photo! The beef salad (I believe it was a Yum Neua style) was also incredibly tasty. I’m generally not a fan of cold/chilled meat salads, but the freshness and flavour of this one completely won me over. The cocktails are definitely on point too! We enjoyed a couple of Lychee Martinis each; they had the perfect balance of sweet and alcoholic—we could have easily stayed for more. My only minor niggle is that I wasnt particularly drawn to the dessert menu, but that’s purely down to personal taste and might be perfect for others. In summary, if you are looking for fantastic, high-quality Thai cuisine and you are close to Wimbledon, you absolutely must visit Mai Thai. Highly recommended!

Daniel Goodman A lovely meal in a beautiful setting. Gorgeous hotel. The restaurant specialises in fish from Cornwall. Would recommend the daily specials over the menu. Whole fish to share is the way to go. The large Dover sole for two was particularly impressive. Starters are not strictly necessary, but if you are a desert person, these are not to be missed! Thoroughly enjoyable.

Foodilicious MuslimMom Dishoom at Battersea is an absolute delight and a must-visit for anyone who loves Indian cuisine. The ambiance is warm, vibrant, and full of character, making the entire dining experience feel special from the moment you walk in. The food was exceptional. The biryani was beautifully aromatic, the pav bhaji rich and comforting, and the crispy bhindi perfectly seasoned and addictive. The daal makhani was creamy and full of depth, while the halwa puri was indulgent and nostalgic. A special mention to the kala khatta drink, refreshing, unique, and bursting with flavour. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and absolutely delicious. A memorable meal with incredible flavours and an atmosphere that keeps you wanting to come back for more. Highly recommended.

Winter 1883 Visited for Sunday lunch with the family including two young children. Staff were very helpful and welcoming both the server and the manager/owner were very hospitable and attentive. Good choice of roasts - had the Beef and Pork, both delicious - only slight improvement would be a bit more gravy (but was brought when asked for). Children enjoyed their mini roasts and the ice cream. Been here a few times and it is always a good experience.

ricky bennici We had a fantastic Sunday lunch at the Alma , started with the excellent scallops then moved on to the main event . The roast was perfect ! Jude our server was brilliant in explaining the menu and helping us pick the best roast for us . We had the pork belly which was great not too fatty , the rump and the sirloin . Also added the cauliflower cheese and the pigs in blankets . The portions were very generous, but it was certainly not quantity over quality. Cant wait to visit again to try some of the other bits on the menu.

Realhomes Visited Mandeq Somali Restaurant in Battersea and it was a great experience! The meat was tender and full of flavour, served with perfectly cooked rice. Their traditional Somali tea was amazing, rich and aromatic, and I loved the authentic touch of being served with a banana on the side. A simple but delicious meal – highly recommend if you’re in Battersea and want to try real Somali food. E
