5 /5 shila sultana: I had a lovely experience at this restaurant this past weekend for my dad’s birthday. We ordered quite a lot that was recommended by the staff, all of which I was extremely happy with, if you’re ever unsure on what to order just trust their recommendations. For starters we all really enjoyed the lamb chops, chicken pakora, meat samosas were particularly very good, chicken wings and onion bhaji. For mains we had the lamb rogan Josh, it was cooked really well and very tender, the king prawn jalfrezi was really flavoursome and a good level of spice, the chicken madras was very very nice all the spices went very well together, the chicken bhuna was exceptionally tasty. We ordered a lot of the rice side dishes and I loved the pilau and garlic rice. I’ve been coming here for years and the staff are always so friendly and welcoming, my dad loved his birthday experience and we had a lovely family day out. Would highly recommend this family business for locals and anyone looking for a good restaurant serving Indian food.

5 /5 Joe Pendle: This is our local restaurant being only 5 mins walk from the house. We were there on Christmas Eve. They played Christmas songs which was nice. Food was really good and generous portions great friendly service. The only reasons I didnt give 5 stars for everything is that the decor needs tidying up as it is a litter scruffy in places. I would recommend and will go back

2 /5 Mel Manuel: We came in friday evening, 5 of us.Was waiting for last person,told them,but was rushed for drinks order.The manager was abrupt,curt and spoke down to us. Im not sure if his humour but was rude,drinks expensive! Asked for red wine,wasnt given an option just got red wine.Were regulars,will NOT be back

1 /5 Adam Croft: We’ve been using Lounge India for years, both dining in and ordering frequent takeaways. The quality of the food has nosedived recently, so we’ve been using them far less. Tonight, we thought we’d give them one last chance. My wife pre-ordered the food an hour before they opened, and arrived half an hour after they opened, to collect the food at the agreed time. Almost an hour later, she was still sat waiting for it, constantly being told ‘five more minutes’. She told them we had three young children waiting for their dinner, and the owner’s response was to give her a bottle of Cobra. Requests for a discount were refused, with my wife being told by the owner ‘Go home and eat, you are hungry’. Tonight was their last chance, and they won’t be getting another one. It’s a shame to see how far they’ve fallen. The arrogance of their owner unfortunately only made things worse. If I were the owner, I would be very concerned about the poor reputation Lounge India has been getting around the village recently, and focusing my efforts on that, not on insulting and belittling loyal customers. We’ve tried too many times to give them the benefit of the doubt. Never again.

3 /5 TJ: Visited for the first time at the weekend. Ordered on the app which was simple, with a 70 minute wait which seemed excessive but I was happy to wait. Went to collect and waited a further 20 minutes. Food got brought out to me when they knew we had 2 orders, and it sat getting cold. Poor preparation preparing one order and not both at the same time and keeping them on a hot plate whilst both orders are completed. The person before me got an apology and a bottle of drink free for the wait time - I received nothing. The price was quite expensive - luckily the app offers 10% off. The food was average, out of all of the Indian takeaways ive tried, i would rank this at the bottom unfortunately. The chicken was chewy and seemed over cooked. Dont think i would order from here again, but may have just been a one off judging by the good reviews which is why I have given 3 stars which I think is fair.
