5 /5 Sophia al’Ahmad: I had the absolute pleasure of trying Matheou’s during my stay in the UK this past week, and I truly can’t recommend it enough. From the moment we walked in, the man working was incredibly kind and attentive — he checked on us multiple times and made us feel so welcomed, like we were regulars. The food? Incredible. Fresh, flavorful, and served piping hot with generous portions. My dad and I both agreed it was our favorite fish and chips of the entire trip — even better than the one we had near Big Ben, which cost twice as much! Matheou’s proves that amazing quality doesn’t have to break the bank. The atmosphere was great too — clean, comfortable, and with both indoor and outdoor seating. You can really feel the care that goes into both the food and the service. It’s the kind of local spot that absolutely deserves more love. If I could, I’d cross the Atlantic just to eat here again. 5 /5 Porters Pest Control Ltd Mark Porter: This shop has been here a very long time & its obvious when you eat here as to why. The service is prompt. The restaurant is spotless & spacious. The fish... UNREAL. My son & i had Cod & chips, curry sauce.. Absolutely beautiful. When food is as fresh & good as this you simply dont mind paying for it. A real nice venue to come for a freshly cooked dinner. Forget the 5 star. Its a 10 from me

5 /5 dave barker: Was going to a gig next door so decided to dine here first. What an excellent choice. The fish and chips were absolutely fantastic with sides of gravy and mushy peas. The fish was huge very crisp and tasty. Chips just perfect and the mushy peas and gravy just made it all perfect. Jamaican ginger beer to was it down. Would highly recommend
