5 /5 sandra ortega: Its the first time Ive visited this restaurant and the best way was to celebrate our Christmas party last night. When I arrived at the place I liked the atmosphere and the very pleasant and cosy decoration. Everything very clean and organised. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Very varied drinks, especially my cosmopolitan was delicious. The starters and the main starters had good portions, good presentation and very tasty all the food. We were all satisfied and happy. Excellent service. And in the end, our beautiful photos on his decorative swing could not be missing. I definitely recommend it and I would love to return.

5 /5 Gergana Koleva: We’ve been to Shiraz Restaurant a few times now, and the food is exceptional every single visit. The quality and flavours are incredibly consistent, which is why we keep coming back. Everything tastes fresh, authentic, and full of flavour. The desserts truly stand out — the kunefe and baklava are absolutely fantastic and honestly some of the best we’ve ever had. There’s nothing that beats finishing the meal with those! The only downside is the noise level later in the evening, as the atmosphere shifts more towards a party/club vibe, which can make it hard to hear each other and have a proper conversation. That said, the food alone makes it well worth visiting. If you’re after delicious Turkish cuisine and amazing desserts, this place is a must-try — we’ll definitely be back again.

5 /5 Alan Pitchforth: After our flight was cancelled due to a cyberattack, we unexpectedly had a night to fill near Gatwick. A quick check on Google Maps led us to Shiraz Restaurant in Horley. It came highly recommended. The online booking was full for Saturday night, but when I rang, Mehmet, the manager, was really helpful and found us a table for 6.30 pm. He even said we could try earlier if needed. That really raised our spirits as we checked into the hotel. We decided to walk from the Gatwick Hilton, which took just over half an hour and set us up perfectly for the evening. As soon as we arrived, Mehmet and his team gave us a warm welcome. The restaurant was already busy even for early diners, with a great mix of locals and travellers. The atmosphere was genuinely lovely. The menu covers plenty of Turkish classics. When we asked Mehmet for his recommendations, he suggested starting with the cold meze platter, followed by the Iskender kebab and the Testi Special. The meze was fresh, colourful and generous. It was clear that the kitchen uses quality ingredients and takes real pride in the food. Both mains were delicious and distinctly different, even though both were lamb. The Testi Special is cooked and then served at the table in a clay pot, which made for an impressive presentation as well as tender, deeply flavoured lamb. The Iskender was excellent too. Next time, I’d definitely go for a Chicken kebab or Seafood dish to mix it up a bit more. The staff were attentive and friendly throughout, but never overbearing or insincere. As the meal went on, the restaurant filled up even more, and there was a great buzz in the room. You could see why Shiraz is so well-reviewed. After dinner, we nipped across the road for a quick drink at the Foresters Horley pub. It was lively and friendly. We then grabbed a taxi back to our hotel. All in all, Shiraz made what could have been a forgettable airport stopover into a genuinely enjoyable experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back next time I’m in the area. Highly recommended.

5 /5 Gary OBrien: We had the Mixed Grill? Testi and Chicken Beyti. All were excellent? The Testi was served in a clay pot surrounded by fire, quite a sight. Also we had the Kunafa desert which again was excellent, something we have never had before. The staff were friendly, efficient and attentive. The restaurant was decorated well.

5 /5 Angel Rogers: This place is absolutely amazing! One of the best restaurants Ive been to. We went for a friends birthday in couples and there were us. From the moment we walked through the door the restaurant was lively, busy and had a great vibe to the place. The food was absolutely gorgeous and so much to choose from. But what wasnt expected was the entertainment. All of a sudden out came a fire performer dancing and swinging fire around and then eating it. It was super cool as if never actually seen a live show and so close and personal. She came out several times during the evening and walked the floor so everyone could see. Whenever it was someones birthday they played a song with fire candles and got everyone to hold them clapping. The place then turned in to almost a mini nightclub with banging tunes with the centre of the floor space being moved for people to dance. They even lit the bar numerous times with flames for effects. Highly recommend this place if you are after a top night out with loud buzzing music, great food and atmosphere!
