Brunch & Barista - Portsmouth City - Hampshire

Rating: 4.7 /5
Giuliana Figuccio Lovely spot for breakfast and lunch in central Portsmouth Brunch & Barista, located on Commercial Road in Portsmouth, is a wonderful place for breakfast or lunch, right in a very central and convenient location. The place itself is really lovely, decorated in a cheerful and welcoming style that makes you feel comfortable straight away. Everything is very clean, including the bathrooms, which is always appreciated. The staff are genuinely kind and friendly. A special mention goes to Alper, who served us today, he was polite, warm, and very pleasant, making the experience even better. The food is truly delicious, I had already tried it before, and it confirmed how good it is. Everything was fresh, well prepared, and enjoyable. The Wi-Fi could be an issue, as there is no signal inside, but they do provide their own Wi-Fi network that customers can connect to, so no problem. Overall, a very positive experience. Highly recommended if you’re in Portsmouth and looking for a nice, friendly place to eat.

Tristan Hermosa I recently had a wonderful dining experience at Zizzi, and it’s definitely a place I would happily return to. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, relaxed, and welcoming — perfect for both casual meals and special catch-ups with friends or family. The restaurant itself was clean, stylish, and had a lively but comfortable ambiance that made the whole visit enjoyable. One of the highlights of our experience was the excellent customer service. Christine and Julia, who served us during our visit, were both incredibly kind, attentive, and professional. They made us feel genuinely welcome, checked in regularly without being intrusive, and ensured that everything we needed was taken care of promptly. Their positive attitude and friendly approach truly added a personal touch to our dining experience. The food was equally impressive — beautifully presented, fresh, and full of flavour. The menu offered a good variety of options, and everything we ordered arrived on time and tasted delicious. It was clear that care had been taken in both preparation and presentation. Overall, Zizzi delivered not only great food but also outstanding service, thanks especially to Christine and Julia. Their hospitality made our visit memorable and enjoyable from start to finish. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience with excellent customer care.

Lizzy Beans Stopped for breakfast. Had the veggie option and asked for brown toast. What we did get was lukewarm at best, white bread/toast (which had barely seen a flame), beans were tepid too. The restaurant was cold too, which probably didnt help. On the plus side the coffee was nice.

X X Looks are deceiving, unassuming appearance that contains within wonderful, friendly staff, excellent service, great food. Menu offers dishes with a choice of protein making it perfect for all. Tofu is cooked nicely, all very tasty and very filling. We come back time and time again. Highly recommend. Friends we take there say it’s the best recommendation they’ve had. About time we had an amazing eatery in the neighbourhood.

Tees Place Restaurant - Hampshire

Sami I haven’t dined in yet, but I recently ordered my first takeaway and had mixed feelings about this place. Firstly, the entrance was a little confusing as the door signage wasn’t clear. I initially pulled on the wrong door. Once inside, I even thought I might be in the wrong restaurant and was about to ask for help, until I noticed the brand name above the counter. When I approached the till, the first staff member saw me but didn’t seem interested in engaging. I said hello and told him I was there to collect my takeaway. He was listening to music, looked at me briefly, then turned back to what he was doing. I was genuinely surprised that this kind of customer service was acceptable. It felt like he simply didn’t care. A short while later, a young woman served me and her attitude was completely different. She greeted me warmly, was efficient, and served me with a smile. She clearly made the effort, which I appreciated. I paid, collected my order, and left. The food itself was good, but I only tried one dish, so I don’t feel I have enough experience yet to fully recommend the restaurant. I ordered jollof rice with goat meat and coleslaw, which cost £18.50. While tasty, it does feel slightly on the expensive side. Side note: all their meat is halal.
