We popped in today for some lunch and a few drinks for my partners birthday, food was served quickly (even with me being fussy and removing things from my nachos)! Spoke to two members of staff who were very helpful and friendly

5 /5 Melanie: A couple years ago I came here and was really disappointed with the state of the chairs- it was dark, dingy and tired. Today I visited and I’m so impressed with the changes; it’s bright, smells much better, clean, freshly decorated with blankets for sitting outside, fairy lights, new seats, a pleasure to be here now as it’s really classy now. Huge thank you to Lyndsay for taking good care of me this lunchtime. Well done for turning this place around it was tired and needed care which has now been given!!

5 /5 Bruv Bruv: Often visitor of Green Kings across the country and am so pleased this one is local to me. Never had an issue with the food or staff and can recommend the quiz night on a Monday evening with friends and family. Spacious with a quaint outdoor area for those sunny days.

4 /5 Rich Deerdog: Spotted this large pub in Rainham many times from passing rail-replacement buses. Decided to pop in today when in town for a rare visit, most serendipitous. Pub is even larger inside than it appears, with extensive dining area to the rear. Who knew. Looked to be some sort of garden area as well, but it was closed. Large bar to the left with decent selection of lagers. Amstel was the choice. Amstel for the people. Choice of a couple of gaming machines - they have the lesser games on offer here - Holy Moly, Lucky Mushrooms etc. Still, not too bad and I ended up slightly up on the Temple of Osiris clone. Pub has several screens showing football, which seemed to draw the locals like moths unto flame. A decent crowd though, not rowdy. Overall, not bad for a chain pub. Didn’t try the food on this occasion, but it’s a Greene King pub so you know the scare - I imagine there’s some sort of pie and chips, some burgers etc. It’ll be decent and consistent, reasonably priced. Location is good and pub sits adjacent to church, opposite the road that goes down to the station. I’d certainly come in here if I lived in town. I can’t see why I’d ever want to live in Rainham, but I guess you can never rule anything out, so it is good to have options.

1 /5 Danni: While the younger lady behind the bar was absolutely lovely, that’s about it. We came for lunch and ordered on the app. After about 40 minutes of waiting (ordered at 1:30ish and got one plate at 2:10) we received the first of four meals…which was a stake wrap. It had mayo (literally one of the only things on the lunch menu that is not meant to come with mayo) and no cheese. I came up to the bar and requested (who I assume was a shift manager) a staff member to come to the table and sort out the food. We were told that it was meant to come with mayo even though it doesn’t say that, and received no kind of apology or anything. We were just told it’s busy, which it really was not…maybe it was in the kitchen but more the half the tables were empty. It was nearly another fifth-teen minutes before a different plate came out. It was really dry for what was meant to be a buttermilk chicken sandwich, and the bread wasn’t toasted so it was pretty limp and chewy. At around 2:30 ish, we need to leave because we had other commitments. We were told we couldn’t have a refund because we ordered off the app, and that the food was being plated up. It was nearly another twenty minutes, and they had no take away boxes so they gave us the plates covered in tinfoil. By the time anyone got the chance to actually eat anything, the barely edible food was boarding on unfit for human consumption and most of it was tossed away. To say I will not be returning is an understatement. While I understand that things go wrong, and not everything is in everyone’s control, we were never told of the delays to the food, and the employee was spoke with seemed to have content for us more then anything…
