5 /5 Dr Short: Really lovely dinner at Tara. Finally an evening without kids, so thought wed give the village Thai restaurant a go - thank goodness we did!
The restaurant itself feels genuine as you walk in, warm and inviting with soft (non Thai!) music playing. Service was a little slow in asking for drinks, but a bottle of Oyster Bay sauvignon blanc wasnt much more than youd pay in Sainsburys. We had scallops and spring rolls to start with: both gorgeous, with enough of a kick to the scallops that I got to have 2 where my wife only had 1. Unfortunately she had the second spring roll instead. Then we had a "safe" red Thai chicken curry, and a king prawn "dry curry". Both were really good! Red was a little spicier, dry was a little creamier, but both disappeared very quickly! Should have had 2 bowls of rice (1 is often enough to share in some places), but all in all, a fantastic meal! And extremely good value at just over £60 including the wine! Well be going back...
