5 /5 Mark Bray: After an 11 hour flight from Los Angeles, we dropped our things at our Airbnb nearby and were walking to a restaurant we’ve been to before in Dachet. Just before we got there we passed 50 Nine, and after reading the menu and a moment of discussion decided to give it a try. Boy were we glad we did!
Though there was a very large party already booked in taking up most of the restaurant, we were seated immediately. The staff was friendly and kind every step of the way. Though the restaurant was full, the silk flowers that line the ceiling kept the volume muted, so it was easy to have a conversation.
We started with appetizers, ordering the stuffed vine leaves, and the Taziki. The Taziki came with bread for dipping as well. All of it was absolutely delicious. Afterwards for our mains, I ordered the mixed grill, which had lamb, shish kebab, skewer, marinated lamb, and skewered marinated chicken. Everything was absolutely delicious and the marinades were on point. The chicken was a little bit overdone for my liking, but the flavor was outstanding. My wife ordered the Samak Meshwi (Seabass) and though it was cooked per two perfection, with the skin on, it was just a little bit fishy. She chose chips/fries as the side, and looking back realize she probably should’ve opted for the rice which might’ve offset the fish better. Overall, everything was really great and well prepared. The food came out in a timely fashion. We were never rushed, nor were, we made to feel like we were waiting. A perfect balance.
The total bill came to £41.50 ($55.51). A reasonable price for some great food and an absolutely delightful setting. If you are in the area, definitely give them a try you won’t be disappointed.
