4 /5 Dr KR Viswanthan: FEELS CRAMPED YET GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY Arya Bhavan in Tooting (Upper Tooting Road) in London offers a tempting dive into South Indian vegetarian cuisine. This is part of the Nagerkoil Arya Bhavan chain. We visited this joint twice in the last two weeks. The atmosphere is casual and energetic and expect a bustling, canteen-style space with packed tables, and a steady flow of locals and regulars Where Arya Bhavan truly shines is its food. The menu is extensive: dosas (including masala, ghee and cheese variations), idlis, vadas, filter coffee, and South Indian thalis are among the favourites. Most reviewers praise the authenticity of flavours—rich sambar, crisp vadas, and a good choice of chutneys. However, service is inconsistent and the place feels cramped. We had to wait for a while to be attended. The premises are also a bit noisy and comfort is just about modest. The premises can be noisy, perhaps during peak hours. Comfort is modest rather than luxurious. In terms of value, Arya Bhavan would score well with generous portions for reasonable prices, especially for veg-South Indian food
