Connies Authentic Ghanaian Restaurant - (Near Greenwich, South East)

1 /5 Bel Tilly (Baby girl): I am writing this post not about the food but on the unprofessional, rude and terrible phone manner. I fancied some African food and came across this establishment on deliveroo, I have never tried Ghanaian food so was excited to try. Unfortunately I have allergies, so I called to find out a few things before placing my order. Upon calling I was greeted rudely, seeing as though I am a customer calling, a better manner needs to be had! Asking my question she said "what?!" So I repeated just incase she didnt hear me, if someone has allergies and are calling they should not be questioned with a "why?!" If asked a simple question about a dish or what oil it is cooked in. So when I explained I have allergies aned need to know what things are cooked in, its like she didnt understand English and was repeating what I was saying and didnt know what allergies were. If you run a restaurant you need to know and not be rude! Someone could die from an allergic reaction, so they need to take this more seriously. I didnt order in the end because it was a fight just to get a simple question. Can somebody recommend a nice Ghanaian food spot in future as I am still craving African food! Please and thanks Also as black people we need to do better in a place that is not for us, we need to come correct and run our establishments professionally, with great etiquette and properly! African or Caribbean! Ive experienced rudeness with both sides now!

1 /5 E B: I ordered jollof rice with beef on Uber Eats and was honestly disgusted. What I received was burnt jollof rice — clearly scraped from the bottom of the pot — with hard, dry beef that looked like it had been reheated several times. For food that isn’t cheap, this level of quality is unacceptable. I took photos and sent them to Uber Eats. As Ghanaians, we need to do better at representing our food. Our dishes are rich and delicious, and customers should not be served food like this. The restaurant owner needs to take this feedback seriously because what I was served today was a complete disgrace. I would not recommend this place at all!

5 /5 Quofi Adjei: I arrived 30 minutes before closing and I was unsure if I’d get any food. Both staff present were very warm and welcoming. I wanted waakye and it was available. Had a drink while waiting for my take away. Waiting time was very short. Overall a pleasant experience.

4 /5 Yaa: Nice GH food in East London Affordable and tasty Ghanaian cuisine owned my Ghanaian family in Forest Gate. Food portion was plentiful. Nice ‘Ghana chop bar vibes’ inside with music and a TV. Very friendly waitress with a great smile throughout the visit. Takeaway options available to ! Tsofi was too nice !

1 /5 Vee Bee: I wouldnt recommend or give any stars for this establishment. The meat was very questionable on when and how it was cooked, both chicken and other "meat" dish, which by the way, they only served 4 small pieces. There was no stew served with either dish and they would charge £1 for "extra". The service was terrible, they werent interested at all, we waited over 2 hours after being told the food was coming repetitively, who knows why it took so long as it wasnt fresh. Whilst they blasted music, table and chairs were not as seen in the pictures. We bought and laid out our own table cloth. They also overcharged us, we asked before we sat down if they were honoring the prices online - they said they would sort it out.. shouldve known by the vagueness. I wouldnt go back, I wouldnt recommend. Its a shame as I really enjoy Ghanian food, I have enjoyed it from other local restaurants and thought to give this one a try but I will not returning.
