CORD by Le Cordon Bleu - (Near City of London, South East)

5 /5 hare super: Stopped by CORD on Fleet Street for a weekday lunch and honestly didn’t expect it to be this busy — or this good. I always assumed people around here would just grab a quick sandwich, but the dining room was full of City workers actually taking their time and enjoying a proper meal. The space is beautifully designed. You walk in through a casual café area, then further inside it opens up into a calm, elegant dining room. The open kitchen is a great touch — you can see everything happening, which makes the whole experience feel very transparent and relaxed. Food-wise, everything we ordered was spot on. The A5 Wagyu and bluefin tuna starters were delicate and full of flavour. For mains, the BBQ monkfish was perfectly cooked and the Highland venison en croûte was rich and comforting without being heavy. The peanut soufflé to finish was light, warm and absolutely worth the wait. It’s rare to find a restaurant of this level right in the middle of the City. If you work nearby and want to slow down for once — whether for a long lunch, a business meal or a quiet date — CORD is well worth a visit.

5 /5 Carolyn Collins: I went to CORD with family and friends to celebrate my birthday on 12th December. We opted for the tasting menu, and I have to say it was absolutely excellent! All 6 of us were hugely impressed with the quality of the food and the imaginative ways of presenting it. We couldnt choose favourite courses as they were all so delicious and beautifully presented but the pate that looked like a mushroom was just outstanding! I have been lucky enough to visit quite a few Michelin starred restaurants and this one is well up there with them and should be noted by Michelin asap. I have suffered with some IBS over the years when I eat spicy or overly seasoned food and am frustrated that many restaurants seem obsessed with adding chilli and spices to everything. The flavours and tastes at CORD were fabulous and varied but not overly spiced and so I could happily enjoy a delicious meal without setting off my IBS. The chefs have managed to provide interesting and delicious food which is presented imaginatively but without losing sight of classical good quality cooking. The service matched the very high quality of the food - we found it attentive without being intrusive. Thank you to the staff that served us. The ambiance also suited us as we felt we could talk and enjoy the food and company in an intimate setting but still part of a busy restaurant. Since my visit I have recommended CORD to many friends and hope to go back in February with family again. I thought the price point was also good as although taster menus are expensive they are wonderful for special occasions but when looking for somewhere to go I found some that were just silly prices and I would not feel comfortable spending that amount of money on a meal. The tasting menu at CORD is still not cheap but very much worth every penny and a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday. CORD has a la carte so no need to have the tasting menu, but I would thoroughly recommend it if you do go! They were also accommodating at swopping out the pate course for one of our party that didnt eat those ingredients. All in all - excellent! My only concern with writing this review is that the restaurant may get so popular that I wont be able to get a booking to visit in February!

The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, and the service was attentive without feeling overbearing — everything flowed effortlessly from start to finish. Each dish was beautifully presented, with thoughtful attention to detail and well-balanced flavours. You can really sense the craftsmanship behind every plate, especially in their modern interpretation of classic French cuisine.

5 /5 i Ccroal000: We spent a beautiful evening at Cord — truly worthy of its Le Cordon Bleu reputation. The food was delicious and exquisitely presented, and every dish had remarkable depth and layers of flavour. The complimentary amuse-bouche was beautifully crafted. For mains, we ordered the Cornish halibut and the venison, and one of the mango desserts was an especially delightful surprise.

5 /5 La Min: It is the second time we visited CORD . Outstanding quality food and service on both occasions . From the moment we enter the restaurant until the last petit four served to us -Exquisite experience. We started with some very tasty canapés by the Chefs . For starters we had the Blue Fin Tuna with ocietra caviar ,Anjou pigeon ,Scottish langoustine and the Wagyu beef Carpaccio. For main we went for their signatures the Monkfish and the Venison we also tried the Cep pasta dish .All perfectly cooked bursting with flavours. The desserts were league by itself. Very professional,attentive but service .They made us feel very comfortable. Arguably the most underrated restaurant in the city at the moment ,how is this not at least 1 Michelin star ?Food for thoughts for the notorious guide.
