5 /5 R E: Great smash burger and fries. We visited on a Saturday and were made to feel welcome and the staff were attentive and helpful throughout the visit. Our burger and fries were really good. The fries were lovely and crunchy (although not actually twice fried). The burger was a genuine smash burger, not just something trying to cash in in the term, and the bacon was incredibly crispy. All the other items we saw being served looked really tempting too so well definitely be back to try some other options

No over complications on the burger choices, good selection overall, can even upgrade fries to Cajun or loaded, small selection of canned drinks, freshly made thick shakes and the desserts looked sublime and wete also clearly baked not bought. 100% would go here again when in the area BONUS: Dogs are allowed in and as it was slightly quiet when we began dining our little one was allowed on the seat, (she is an anxious little one) when we noticed more people coming in we took her down but were thankful and that seemed to relax her a little, we appriciated it very much.

1 /5 Edward Cullen: Ate a garlic burger on 22 Oct 24. £14.45 First impressions upon walking in were the place looks cheap and tacky. Kitchen looks like it was put together from scrap. And it is cheap and tacky. No problem as long as the food is good. About that. Its not. Male worker was very friendly. There was a female worker who didnt even acknowledge my existence. I went in just as they opened so I was the only customer at first. Burger and fries were made fast. Came out hot. Fries are decent, however theres 2 issues. Too much crust and not enough soft inner, and way too much salt. Burger however. Terrible. Buns not toasted. You cant taste the meat as theres barely any there. Tons of the garlic sauce. It was mainly just bun and sauce. And damn was there a CRAZY amount of salt in the burger. Because its obviously made of multiple components, I cant specify exactly what contained too much salt exactly. Maybe it all did. Who knows. I suspect its the sauce. Either way, my burger had a crazy amount of salt in it. I forced myself to eat almost all of the burger as I was very hungry and dont like wasting food. No one came to ask how the meal was. It wasnt till I got up to ask for water and told him how it was that there was any discussion about it. At first he just said hes sorry about it. Then later he offered me a free coffee. Coffee was decent. I supposed I should have complained earlier, but as I suspected the excessive salt is in the sauce there would be no point, as if he remade it, it would be exactly the same. So I didnt. Plus I dont like to waste food. Couldnt finish about half the portion of the fries sadly as I was in salt overload. Your body will let you know when you shouldnt eat anymore salt. Listen to it. Taste wise, setting aside the excessive salt, it wasnt good. Cant taste the meat, sauce was meh and thats pretty much all there was in there. I cannot recommend this place at all. Interior isnt nice, Herne Bay is rundown and horrible so its not in a nice location, and the food was bad. Toilet and sink downstairs were dirty with a filthy mirror. Theres a (fake?) plant under the terrible hand dryer. Why?! Dont bother trying to dry your hands using it. Just use the toilet tissue. The toilet and toilet area are chaotic, in dire need of renovation, and regular cleaning needs to be in place. Very expensive and not worth the money at all sadly. Five guys is far far better. Alternatively please sir is good.

5 /5 Jay: When the ravens reached us upon the mountain with word of true smash burgers we scoffed, and yet we came. We came to disprove yet more claims of burgers smashed which in fact so often are just thin burgers of ordinary flavour but let me tell you brothers, for the first time, the ravens are true. Gather the children for we have a tale for you all. Summoned were we to this hallowed forge of beef. As we descend the halls our noses fill with deep scents of bacon fried, and the walls ring with the echoes of spatulas working with skilled hand against the anvil of flames. We need not browse the menu for it has already called to us. Maple burgers with cheese fries demand the ancestors, and we can only oblige. From behind the counter the great craft begins. A man fierce and hairy and of the oldest and noblest bloodlines emerges from his hold below, and with lightning strikes and thunderous scrapes he sets about his canvas of steel. As he works the beef and toils the toppings we hunger, we wait. Two plates come laden with fries of deepest gold and hewed in the finest cheese, all around a great tower of smash and maple. The fries are unlike anything from our lands. The crunch like the chips of legends told. "You have set upon the hairs of Freya herself" laughs the bearded craftsmen from the grill beyond, and he does not lie for these chips are something divine. The burger is indeed, a true smash burger. Such a term so often applied but never realised this side of the great sea but here at the House of Hudson they have done it. They have carried back the secrets from the lost colony and brought them back to share with the folk of Albion. The burgers so perfectly caramelised to balance both crunchy outside and yet they hold fast the juices sealed within. At the moments end we both shed a tear as we come to regard our plates turn empty, and yet, we are deeply satisfied. As we head back to brave the winds and the long wander home he calls "Take care travellers, and we shall see you again in these halls, I think" and this great warrior of the griddle speaks only truth. He knows what he has done. He has plied his craft, and shown us his finest and so he knows we will crave again. And we will. Soon, I think. But for now, it is time to get belly up in front of the telly. Thank you my friend. Never change.
