1 /5 Levent Aksu: Large haddock was an absolute disappointment. Was not fresh, was not cooked well either. Cod was ok ish in terms of freshness but was not cooked well either.

4 /5 Nox: Now this is a good little place - the fish really nicely cooked, and a good sized piece with chips will feed a couple nicely for dinner. A surprising number of good addons: they also do a great line in crunchy/spicy wings, as well as the usual fare you expect to see. The main thing is that theyre consistently good - maybe not coastal good but perfect for this part of town, no fear of a bad one here. NB: Theres a few reviews here that threaten the owners with never coming back, missing only the crossed arms and compoface suited to local newspapers. Have a read of some of their reviews, and youll get a measure of the reviewer, as well as their expectations. Spend accordingly.

2 /5 L Z: I’m a regular customer here, but today’s experience was disappointing. I understand it was busy, but after waiting over 15 minutes to place my order — and watching staff take the orders of two customers who arrived after me — it felt unprofessional. One of the staff even acknowledged me but then chose to take the short woman’s order instead, leaving me standing there. Realistically, if I had stayed another 10 minutes, it might’ve finally been my turn — but since I planned to order fish bites, as usual, I would’ve been asked to wait yet another 10 minutes for it to be cooked. At that point, I just left and got food elsewhere. I also tried calling ahead to place the order by phone, but no one picked up. Just a suggestion: maybe going forward, when customers walk in, you could ask what they plan to order — that way you can start preparing items like fish that take longer, instead of prioritizing only your favorite faces.

4 /5 tom allen: Just passing and hungry before meeting, so parked up and got a small cone of chip. Lovely and hot, delicious and crisp, and a really good size serving. Great value for money. Only downside is the parking and surrounding area is a littered and untidy. Friendly staff a couple of tables inside, all pretty clean inside shop.
