Salt and Light - (Near Kent, South East)

4 /5 Steven Blench: New one to try out with my daughter in Herne Bay. A few tables were taken its table service here. At the moment they do not have WiFi which is good so people are not on laptops while drinking just one coffee in an hour. My daughter ordered the small breakfast and a Mocha. I ordered the eggs royal and a latte. Both came out piping hot and freshly cooked. Both my poached eggs were cooked well and runny, they use spinach on top of the muffin I thought was frozen not fresh, then the salmon was not smoked salmon but their own cooked salmon. My daughter enjoyed hers Im 50/50 on mine it was good but Im a smoked salmon not a cooked salmon person and fresh spinach. I will probably be back tomorrow with my sister and Im sure she would like the eggs benedict.

5 /5 S Y: We decided to spend a day out at Herne Bay and came across this place whilst looking somewhere to have lunch. On first impression, the Café has a calming and cosy atmosphere. Love the colour and décor of the café. Staff are friendly, polite and helpful. Always a bonus and makes the experience more pleasant. I ordered a crab and cheese toastie with chips and salad and my husband had cod fish and chips. Nice portion size and the food was tasty and quite delightful. Homemade chips, it was delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed my toastie, it was delicious. Lovely bright colours in the salad, appealing to the eye. A mix of peppers, mixed leaves, cucumber and tomatoes, nice texture, a bit of crunch and simply yum! The batter was beautifully cooked. Not too heavy nor thick. A nice thin crispy crunchy batter and it did not retained too much oil after frying. The fish was not over cooked, succulent, juicy and cooked to perfection. The cappuccino was beautifully made. Nice hot milk, just how I like it. Makes a nice change from using very cold milk leaving the coffee luke warm. there is one toilet room available for customers to use. Also have changing station that cater for parent and baby. The facility is kept nice and clean. Always a bonus. Overall, a rather enjoyable and delightful experience. Thank you Salt and Light.

3 /5 Joanne Wicker: Ordered the eggs royal. Looked good. Muffin was burnt though, spinach was from frozen, hot smoked salmon didnt work, normal smoked salmon would have been better. And eggs lacked some flavour. Nice spot though. Nice decor, staff were pleasant. Partner ordered a tuna melt which was better. Double cooked chips were OK, Im not a fan of chunky chips. Menu selection was good.
