5 /5 Jones Lee: Check my review, and you will see that I rarely give 5 stars. Probably less than 20 times out of 2000 reviews. But this one is a must. I even took a picture with the chef! The fried cod is wonderful. Fresh. The batter is the thinnest I ever have. It is here enough that you can feel it. But light enough that it wont burden your stomach. The grill seabass is absolutely gorgeous. Everyone can put a fish on a grill, but only the real chef can make the skin a bit crusty with grill marks and soft & juicy to the 85% of the fish. Oh, so good! ....... here is the best part. The lovely server recommended the fried whitebait as an appetizer (we originally wanted to order fried sardines). It is the best food in the UK for me. Whitebait is a very tiny fish, size of a finger. It coded lightly with flour. Fried it to perfection. A little bit of salt, but dominated by its freshness. It served on a hot plate, and you can still feel the heat from the fishes because it just came out from the fryer. Oh, it is a perfect dish for a beer. The chef told me that all the fishes come from Scotland. For 38 years, they served fresh fishes daily. They dont overstock to keep fish fresh. I originally ordered grill plaice, but they sold out. I thank the chef personally. I highly recommended this place to you. If you love fish, this is the place.

5 /5 A M: Skipjacks is hands-down one of the best fish & chip shops I’ve been to — the kind of place that reminds you why this dish is a British institution. We started with their battered halloumi, and honestly, I could have eaten an entire plate to myself. Perfectly golden, crisp on the outside, and gloriously gooey inside, with just the right saltiness to make the lemon wedge sing. Then came the main event: the fish & chips. The batter was a masterclass — light, shatteringly crisp, and not the slightest bit greasy, encasing beautifully flaky fish. The chips were thick-cut, golden, and fluffy inside, exactly how proper chippy chips should be. Served with tangy tartare sauce and fresh mushy peas, it was comfort food done with real care and attention. Service was warm and friendly, the portions were generous, and everything arrived piping hot. Skipjacks isn’t just serving food — they’re serving up the kind of meal that makes you smile all the way home. If you love fish & chips, this is the place to go. A true five-star chippy experience.

Lovely gent who fries the fish...always greets with a cheery hello and happily fries my takeaway order fresh as I have a long drive home and the lady who has been there since forever always greets us like old friends...keep up the great work! Highly recommended.

1 /5 Anika Sh: Used to be my favourite place. Will not be ordering from here anymore. Last time my burger was undercooked and chips were average. This time my burger had mould on it and the chips were hard and very dry as if they’d been sitting there all day. Once could be a mistake, twice and mould is unforgivable. Gone down hill, avoid. EDIT: I have since been contacted by the team and they were really apologetic. They told me they had checked the batch and gotten rid of the rest of the buns even though the rest were fine. They’ve also established training for their staff since. Though this incident put me off food for a long time; unfortunately even the best of places can make mistakes. I’m happy to see they have put measures in place to prevent this happening again, and appreciate their genuine apology. When I’m ready I’d be willing to give them another shot, as they’d genuinely always had the best chips in town!

1 /5 Liza Marquez: We fancied Fish and Chips last night but didn’t know anywhere to go locally. Google directed us here and we followed the reviews. We thought it was a nice place but very soon our thoughts began to change when I, being a woman/lady on the table was served her drink the last. We arrived earlier than two other tables but my drink was served at the very end. My partner was served 15 to twenty minutes earlier. In each and every restaurant we have been to, our drinks were served to the table together. I felt like I was in a strange country except that I knew I was in England and we both came here to relax to celebrate my end of this longest term at work. Two women/staff came out to give me a stare at my table noticeably too without any smile on their faces. What was that about? I eat Fish and Chips maybe just once in six months as I am a health concious individual however that grilled fish was delicious to me and the chips was lovely contradictory to my partner’s experience because he had a stomach ache and we had to rush back home. Furthermore, our bill was £45.00 but the lady who served us keyed-in £59.00 on her system fortunately my partner saw and corrected her. She did not apologise. It could have been intentional. Due to the staring and being served my drinks after twenty minutes, and those unprofessional stare at me as a new customer, I am giving you a one star with service. I felt I was unwelcome & did not like the feeling of being a customer there. Service as well as their attitude of staring are absolutely horrendous. Do your staff need retraining and making them aware that London is a cosmopolitan country, that customers do come from all walks of life?
