Smarts Fish & Chips THAME - (Near Oxfordshire, South East)

5 /5 Joe Capper: Always absolutely fantastic! The staff are so incredibly friendly and always have infectious smiles on their faces - they can brighten anyones day! The food... Oh the food... The scampi is always great. My one criticism is that I have had better batter on scampi elsewhere in the country, but that is a very minor point, its still really good. The chips are great, exactly what you want when you want classic chippy chips. The portions of chips are also huge. The two of us share a small chips with our other items and its always plenty. The battered sausages are really good, taste great and have a lovely batter. The fish is gorgeous. Flakes beautifully, has the skin on so you know its good, and the batter is lovely. Ive never had any complaints with this fish. The mushy peas are usually very good, although the last time they were quite watery and not mushed properly. Possibly not the cheapest fish and chips Ive had in the country, but probably in line with the general area and with the quality of food, service and atmosphere, I have no qualms paying their prices.

Now as a resident, I’m so glad that the best fish and chips I’ve ever had are literally in the town I live in! The fish and chips from Smarts are incredibly flavourful and enjoyable. My go-to is the Kid’s Fish and Chips as it’s the perfect portion size for me. The shop is always clean, and the hygiene is well maintained. Most importantly, the whole family who runs the shop is so friendly - always smiling and incredibly helpful. Keep going guys!☺️

5 /5 Antony OHara: Ordered on their website and the food was ready on arrival despite being very busy on a Saturday early evening. Perfectly cooked, crispy batter and flaky cod with lovely chips. Very generous portions and we all thoroughly enjoyed our fish and chips.

They have a bunch of different delicious things that I am eager to try in the future. The smell in the shop when I collect my orders is always extremely tempting!! The team is absolutely friendly, respectful, incredibly driven to show you that they have great products very well differentiate from others by its flavour, texture and careful preparation. The store is very tidy and neat. Its a shame that they dont have more room to enjoy the food seated, and to order more items once finished the previously ordered! But anyway, its always a positive experience and a more than happily payed meal! I have to say that they have an own made garlic sauce super delicious!! I have tried fish and chips all around. Those guys have no competition in Oxfordshire. See you soon! I definitely will keep going!

1 /5 Michelle Horne: Ordered myself and my husband cod and chips... with some other food for the children. The cod and chips were awful, totally inedible, greasy, old, bitter the fish was soggy, bitty and really not sure if it was even cod! Would not recommend. Would never go back.
