Kay Bromley Love this bar with its relaxed style and easy-going atmosphere. They have some very good wines as well as their own craft beers and its extra special when the pizza van parks up outside and you can have a delicious, freshly cooked pizza with your drink. Perfect!

Chicken Shop -

Dynah Dumanglan We were hesitant to try as there are literally no customers inside. I’m glad we tried cos it is one of the best chicken and fries I have ever had. Some chicken only tastes good on the outside, the skin, but this one tastes so good inside as well. I absolutely love it. We had the small burgers too and they also taste amazing.

Teri Morris Unfortunately, I was too busy stuffing my face with the amazing doner kebab I ordered to take any pictures of my food, but this place was great. The staff were attentive and friendly, everything was made fresh right before our eyes, and the food was filling and amazing. I couldnt stop praising the food to my husband during our meal. My first doner kebab since 2010, it sounds silly but it made my week!

ashley W We had a lovely lunch at the royal. It was a place I have always wanted to go and it did not disappoint. It’s like stepping back in time. Lovely large dining hall with ample seating and enough tables for a vibrant yet chilled afternoon lunch. The food was superb. The Sunday roast was just perfect. Again the staff were so good well presented and extremely polite and friendly. It was a perfect afternoons lunch. Well done we will return.

Leire G. Authentic Italian food and great value, especially with the lunch offer. My son had the margherita pizza and said it was the best pizza he’s ever had. We also tried the bruschetta, gnocchi with pesto, and spaghetti with prawns and tomato — everything was really tasty. The service was warm and welcoming too. We’ll definitely be back soon.

MADDOGLEP I think this must be fairly new as I have no recollection of this pub / restaurant. Thomas Paine has strong local connections, unlike Casta and Madge. He helped inspire the American revolutionary war and almost lost his head in the French one. Silly so and so. I had another Harveys Sussex best bitter. One of three real ales on my visit. Very good. Up steep stairs finds a roof terrace. Must be lovely on a warm sunny day / evening. Free wifi.
