5 /5 Jon R: Tucked away in the charming village of Mildenhall, just outside Marlborough, The Horseshoe delivers a roast beef experience that’s nothing short of sublime. From the moment we walked in, the warm welcome and fresh, stylish decor set the tone for a perfect afternoon. The roast beef was the star of the show—tender, richly flavoured, and cooked to perfection. The Yorkshire puddings were golden and crisp, the roast potatoes beautifully seasoned with a satisfying crunch, and the vegetables? Surprisingly exceptional. Often overlooked, these were vibrant, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. And the gravy—oh, the gravy! Deeply savoury and clearly homemade, it tied everything together with finesse. Service was attentive and cheerful, even on a busy Sunday. If you’re craving a proper British roast with heart and flair, The Horseshoe is a must. Hats off to the team for creating a place that feels both elevated and welcoming. We’ll absolutely be back. PS chicken was good too.

5 /5 Paul Bissell: A friend of ours recommended this place to us and we were able to get a table at short notice for Sunday lunch. Im so glad we went. The place was really busy but the atmosphere was great. Relaxed, friendly and buzzing with conversation. Everyone who served us our meal and drinks were lovely. Friendly, helpful and chatty. And the best bit, was of course, the food. What an excellent roast (belly pork), with nice vegetables, plenty of gravy, all piping hot and a special mention must go to the excellent cauliflower cheese. A sneaky espresso martini topped things off nicely. Will we go back? We already have!!

5 /5 Emily: Just been to The Horseshoe for lunch with friends. Super friendly, very efficient staff, o beautiful pub and my husband and I agree that it was hands down the best pie weve ever eaten (and my husband is a Northerner so this is quite a bold statement). We will definitely be returning. NB: the pie of dreams was steak and stout. It was pie perfection

5 /5 Simon Welch: We booked this pub "blind" for a lunch with friends, having had a few poor choices in the past. This time, we hit a "good un". The pub is situated just outside Marlborough and has both a decent car park and a very large garden. The welcome was good and it appears that most if not all the food is made in the kitchen. We ducked a starter and went straight to the main course. Unfortunately, due to the fridges having broken down some of the items were not available - not the pubs fault - but there remained a good choice. Three of us had a pie, which we all agreed was one of the best pies wed ever had in a pub; they come highly rated by us. The fourth member of our party had fish & chips (the next batch of pies was still being prepared!), and said the batter was wonderfully light. Desserts followed and all were judged "delicious". Service was excellent, with a very friendly, efficient waitress and we will certainly return when next meeting up with our friends.
