4 /5 Aaron Harris: Came here to test the Sunday Roast, wasnt blown away but by no means were we disappointed, either.
It was shortly after midday on Sunday, so there were few people and staff ro create any kind of warmth and vibe, and it very much felt like football was the focus as there were 5-6 screens showing it from every angle, which is fair enough but not the best ambience for a Sunday lunch sitdown, especially with small groups of youths hoarding tables with no food or drinks, looking sullen.
The beef roast was fine, with no real complaints on cooking, size or time to table. It was just unremarkable and for a few pounds more I longed for other choices elsewhere, which I passed up on the day out of convenience.
The North Star is much better on a Friday night than a Sunday afternoon, in my view, but if youre around during the day and hungry, its fair to say you wont feel undone in any way. You just might not feel the need to return.
