1 /5 toby kesterton: Easily the worst pub food in Hampshire. Three of us had a Saturday dinner and the menu looked interesting but every ingredient was overcooked and over seasoned. For example the mash potatoes were both lumpy and bouncy.

5 /5 Jill: Came here because restaurant down the road had a water pipe burst. Very willing to accommodate us! 7 for lunch. Great variety in the menu. Pleasant waitress. Tasty food.

1 /5 Rachael Dickman: I have just returned from this pub following a Christmas meal out with friends. We had the Christmas menu. We were the only people in the pub (Monday evening and terrible weather), so obviously the atmosphere was a non existent, but we were a large group so that didn’t matter too much. The food was terrible. The starter was supposed to be a liver pate which, when it came out looked like someone had had an episode of diarrhoea on the plate (I wish I was exaggerating) on very cold stale bread (which had the texture of being in the fridge). Pretty inedible. The roast turkey dinner was warm, but my turkey (which clearly had previously been a sausage of turkey meat, sliced) still had a huge ring of plastic round it. The meat was dry, the potatoes tasted like undercooked powder, the veg was way undercooked and the gravy seemed to be something that should have been paired with beef or lamb. The pudding was a Bailey’s cheesecake (others had a crème brûlée- or creamy jelly). The cheesecake tasted ok, but was not set properly, so was more like a mousse. They did give us a platter of store bought mince pies. But all in all it was quite disappointing seeing as we were the only ones there! Thankfully it was a cheap meal but I definitely won’t be back in a hurry

1 /5 vicky Hawden: Gutted. I have eaten here before for various occasions and always had lovely food therefore naturally raved about it to my friends for our Xmas do. So glad we only paid £25 for the food but it was not worth this at all. The place was dead, it was only us 11 in there and one other man working - I felt sorry for him. My starter was paté; this was served as 2 sloppy balls on stale sourdough?! It was dry tasteless bread. The paté lumps looked like an old man’s nut sack. - it didn’t taste good either. The turkey with all the trimmings was pretty much inedible. The outside was dry and tough to chew, the gravy was dark thick and glossy but tasted like soy sauce. I had 6 small cubes of something - couldn’t tell you what they were but one of them made me gag, the broccoli was raw and potatoes were undercooked frozen ones from Lidl (FYI I like Lidl roasties but I like them cooked) My pudding was Christmas pudding, this and the custard itself was nice, but it came with gooey mucus looking glaze over it which I scrapped off. I sound picky but I really am not. We got over the atmosphere being quieter than the local crematorium because as a group we had a good giggle. I felt really sorry for the guy working alone; I suspect the food was prepared hours earlier and left to be served to us - had we not have been there I suspect they wouldn’t have opened. Honesty from the venue would have been appreciated, don’t cook and open if it’s going to be of a detriment to your standards. Normally I would highly rate this establishment but from last nights experience its lost 11 new clients and gained multiple bad reviews. If you have Christmas Day dinner booked here I would reconsider or it will be a day ruined.
