Fairytale Farm - (Near Oxfordshire, South East)

4 /5 Ewout Jackson: We had a lovely first visit to Fairytale Farm and were really impressed by how friendly and welcoming all the staff were. The dinosaur feeding and the new wooden castle play area were big highlights, and our son especially loved the Mouse House — such a charming detail! There is lots to enjoy, and we can see how magical it must be in the summer. Some of the older fairytale features could do with a little maintenance, as a few sound effects and interactive elements weren’t working clearly, but this didn’t take away from an enjoyable day overall. A really sweet place for younger children, with a warm atmosphere and wonderful staff.

1 /5 Amy Evans: What an absolute joke! We paid over £50 for a family of 4, which is a good £45 over what it’s worth. The first area was old and broken, and actually verging on plain creepy. The 2nd part which was a playground was all shut off and inaccessible. This would’ve been one of 2 play areas, but the other one was all metal and far too slippery to actually use after the rain. The dinosaur area was what attracted us in the first place but this was two dinosaurs with one “dig for fossils” area and that was it. There were no rides as implied by the map, and the farm was good, though I very much worry about one of the alpacas. This is basically an overpriced, miserable collection of ducks, pigs, sheep, rabbits and an alpaca. Edit after business response: Firstly I love how the business has put more effort into their response than the actual farm itself. As you can see from my pictures, there was almost half of the play area out of order, not just the mushroom (at least substantially more had red tape around it). The huff and puff “playground” was not what I was referring to. The main play area for younger children by the unused rail track was too slippery to use, so there was nowhere for this age group to play outside. The inside play area is very small and was absolutely packed as this was the only area available for younger children. In regards to the dinosaurs… exactly. There’s a handful of “dinosaurs” but I wouldn’t call it an area and the map made it seem like there was far more to do. It’s essentially a glorified and somewhat creepy walk. You may not advertise rides as such but it looks like this is what the numbered things are on the map. The reality is incredibly disappointing. Your only visible alpaca had an injured leg and was hobbling about. Other parents also expressed their concerns. Apologies I didn’t list all the animals above, but one of a few types of bird hardly covers what was advertised and most animals are in shelters far from where people can go, so you can’t see them. What a disappointing response to go alongside a disappointing day.

5 /5 Mohammed Quraishi: Great place to visit with the family, we all had an amazing time. Its a little pricey however I understand that they have to keep up with all the maintenance costs and pay their friendly staff etc. We all enjoyed petting the rabbits and feeding them along with the other animals. They also enjoyed playing in the park and pumpkin carving. A great day out. Highly recommended.

5 /5 Vikkie Murray: What a brilliant experience at Fairytale Farm! So much for the children to see and do from dinosaurs to animals! As it was half term they had a dinosaur event on, the entertainers playing the dinosaur trainer and Darcy the dinosaur were fabulous - really engaging but conscious of nervous children and giving them space, really fantastic! They all also enjoyed the crafting activities included! The person running the animal petting was so helpful and told the children all about the animals they were cuddling!!! Fairytale Farm offers a childminder membership which means that the school age children I care for got to have a wonderful half term treat day out! We cannot wait to visit again!

5 /5 Iulianna Tescu: What an amazing place ! After reading few reviews on the place, i wasnt quite sure if 1 h and 45 minutes of driving would worth, but the answer is YES! When you think youve seen it all, something unexpected grabs you! It goes on and on and on! Fantastic is all i could say! My both kids ( aged 9 and 1 ) absolutely loved it! Free parking on site!
