2 /5 Callum Randall: Came to After Hours with good intentions because I heard good things, but honestly it didn’t live up to the hype at all. I’ve been to plenty Jamaican spots before and this just wasn’t on that level. The service was poor from the jump. I get that they’re open late, but if you’re running an after-hours spot you should be prepared for the rush, not acting surprised or bothered by customers.
The food itself was just okay, nothing special, definitely not worth the wait or the price. I waited over 25 minutes for my food, which had me thinking it was about to be decent at least, but nah. When I finally got it, it was served in a cheap polystyrene tub wrapped in cling film, and by the time I went to eat it the container was basically falling apart. Not a good look at all.
Customer service was rude and careless, like they couldn’t be bothered to serve people properly. No warmth, no respect, just bare attitude. On top of that, the prices are way too high for what you actually get. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this place—there are way better Jamaican spots out there that give proper food, proper service, and proper value for money.
Only time I’d say it’s alright is if you’ve just had a smoke and need something quick to munch on, other than that it’s a miss.
