Rose Austin Today, I went to Merlyns Chicken for the first time. It was a welcoming atmosphere, very clean and hygienic. The menu prices are similar to McDonalds. We went to order burgers, and I was a bit unsure at first but the ladies at customer service suggested and helped me choose my meals. The spicy fillet burgers and smash burgers were full of flavour and worth the price. Next time, I would like to eat in, as today I took takeaway.

Gulam Hussain Nothing but the best from my brothers at Peri Peri Original. My go to place. Always give the best quality of food. Everything is always fresh, hot, and delicious. No complaints thus far, and at this rate I never will.

Diana Macfarlane I have been to this pub twice now and it gets better each time! Really lovely staff, great atmosphere and delicious food. Cosy in the winter and airy in the summer. An easy train journey from Clapham Junction to Ash Vale. The tasty goat’s cheese starter was beautifully presented. Delicious Sunday roast with a good plateful of veggies (and huge Yorkshire pud) but the 2 slices of roast beef were too small and I could have done with another slice! Haven’t sat outside yet but it would be nice next to the river. Love this pub!

The food came out quickly, everything was hot and well presented, and the whole place felt clean, organised, and running smoothly. But what really stood out to me — and what deserves special recognition — was the work happening behind the scenes, particularly from the pot washer. Every plate, glass, and piece of cutlery was spotless, and service clearly flowed without any delays. That kind of consistency doesn’t happen by accident. It takes someone hardworking, efficient, and genuinely dedicated to their role. The pot washer was clearly the backbone of the kitchen operation — keeping everything moving, supporting the chefs, and making sure standards stayed high all evening. It’s easy to overlook roles like this, but the truth is the whole dining experience depends on it. The level of care, speed, and reliability showed real pride and professionalism. People like that don’t just do the job — they elevate the whole team.
