1 /5 Alex Diner: I left El Molino Restaurant feeling REALLY DISAPPOINTED and what upset me most is that our friend who organised the whole evening and booked the table, brought gifts and genuinely wanted to create a lovely Christmas get together, went home feeling regretful and very upset.
We were never informed at the point of booking (or in the booking confirmation we received) that the table was limited to a 2 hour slot. Based on previous visits, we had never experienced this here, so naturally we assumed it would be a normal dinner pace, especially in December when friends meet to catch up and celebrate. If we’d known there was a strict end time, we would have planned differently or made additional arrangements.
Two guests arrived later due to a genuine reason and from that point the atmosphere changed. The service felt minimal and at times uncomfortable. There was pressure around timing rather than hospitality. What also confused us was that other groups around us didn’t appear to be treated the same way, which made the situation feel unfair and unclear.
The food itself was ok, although did not get a change to enjoy it, as we were RUSHED :( The service and atmosphere spoiled what should have been a special evening. A simple, clear mention of the time limit at booking and a polite, consistent approach on the night, would have avoided all of this.
We’d been looking forward to the evening and made special arrangements to be there.
If a time limit is non-negotiable, it should be clearly stated at booking so customers can make an informed choice.
