5 /5 mike mcdermid: Great little cafe for a Saturday brunch. Bit of a walk from the train, but it was worth it. We were at the head of the queue so didn’t have to wait long for a seat.
We had the courgette fritters, which had strips of panko fried courgette, with dukkah, halloumi, minted yoghurt, avocado, poached egg, harissa and Parmesan. A lot to pack in, but tasted amazing.
I had the Welsh rarebit, which takes me back to my childhood where we used to make them as snacks. This was obviously melter cheese on toast, but with bacon, fried egg, side of avocado, chilli jam, rocket and Parmesan. This was next level yum, and I’ll try to make this when I get home.
For dessert we all shared a French toast, which was on brioche, crème fraiche, berry compote, banana and salted caramel. This was terrific, and we all clamouring for a share of it. Delicious.
Would definitely come here again, highly recommended
