3 /5 Joe Welsh: The food here was genuinely very good — everything we ordered came out hot, fresh, and well-cooked. Portion sizes were generous and it felt like good value for money, so credit to the kitchen because they’re clearly doing something right.
Unfortunately, the service really let the place down. Two of the younger female servers came across as quite rude and uninterested. They seemed unhappy to help, short with us when we asked simple questions, and generally made us feel like we were an inconvenience rather than customers. It definitely affected the atmosphere and our overall experience.
On the positive side, one of the other staff members — a tall Hungarian gentleman — was absolutely lovely. Friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. He completely changed the tone of our visit and gave the kind of service you’d hope for in a pub.
If the front-of-house service were more consistent, this place would be excellent. Great food, but customer service needs improving.
