Yaseen The food at Mayhek was absolutely delicious every single dish was full of rich flavour and freshly made. We had a big variety (seafood, meat curries, naan, and vegetable dishes) and everything came out piping hot and beautifully spiced. The garlic naan was soft and fluffy, the curries were packed with depth, and the sizzling prawns were a highlight. The service was friendly and welcoming throughout the staff made sure we were looked after and topped things up quickly. The atmosphere is cosy with a nice cultural touch, making it a comfortable place to sit down and enjoy a proper meal. For me, this was a very satisfying dining experience. The food really stands out as one of the best Indian spots I’ve tried, and I would happily come back again. Definitely a place I’d recommend if you want authentic, flavourful dishes with great service.

Canonbury Carpentry Popped in Humdingers Highbury for the first time when I was working local to them. After looking at the menu I asked for a breakfast bun but was told they wasn’t cooking hot food at that time. However the staff were very helpful and pointed me in the direction of their pre-made sandwiches/rolls which they told they would heat up. Opted for a tuna roll, and an apricot pastry. The roll was fresh and extremely filling, the pastry was probably the best pastry I’ve ever had. £8 for the 2 items and drink, very reasonable for fresh delicious food that filled me up for the rest of the day. Will definitely be going back.

T T The little family run cafe is an excellent spot for those seeking a delicious breakfast or brunch. The cafe is well known for its friendly and welcoming atmosphere, thanks to the kind and hospitable owners.

Ertan Gul Run by an elderly couple this chippy has been around for 26 years and is a staple of Blackstock Road. Foods never dropped in quality and they make sure to always be open. The owner keeps his doors open not for business but for passion and to keep himself busy. Everyone should go in to support and have a chat.

Shan Good hearty food, decent portion sizes, good value for money. Chef has a good heart, a good soul and I feel comfortable eating from him since he has good energy and he pours this into the food he prepares. The food is always tasty and well seasoned, I find he balances the seasoning really well. Great little Caribbean takeaway spot if you want some actual hearty and healthy food. Dominique I recently had lunch at a restaurant that is well worth a visit! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with friendly and attentive service, which set a warm and inviting tone. The food was delicious from start to finish. The boquerones were delicately marinated and a real treat as a starter. The grated carrots with smoked ricotta were fresh and had a nice balance of flavors. The pollack was well-cooked, though the accompanying chanterelles were slightly overcooked for my taste. However, the dish was still flavorful and satisfying overall. To finish, the dessert was the highlight: a white chocolate mousse paired with rhubarb, which added just the right amount of tartness to balance the sweetness of the chocolate. I’d happily return for another visit!
